Earlier on the radio, Stan Savran (Pittsburgh sportscaster who's been around since like 1979) said that he'd been at Heinz Field earlier. He said that in all his years at 3 Rivers Stadium & Heinz field, he never saw things so dark, so somber there. Both players & coaches.
I'm glad that the Steelers realize how bad they screwed things up for themselves! I know this may not be the best thread topic, but I thought yinz may have wanted to know.

I heard him on the drive home talking about this. The players should be sick and so should this arrogant incompetent coaching staff that thought it just had to show up in Baltimore and win on Sunday. The Steelers get what they deserve here. They still have a shot to get in but if they don't they have nobody to blame but themselves.

I wish I could get Stan on the radio, always enjoyed listening to him. The players and coaches should be somber, they are the talk of NFL nation wide, and it's not good.

I'm sure Ben forgot all about the 2 ints (almost 3) the wasted 2 timeouts and chucking the ball down the field with only 2 downs left after he picked up his million dollar paycheck this week. LOL

Man aren't they! I've been getting crap directed at me about the game for the past 2 days. Not much I can come back at them either other than yep they sucked and they blew it. It must be getting played a lot in all kinds of places because people who don't even follow football have been dishing out the garbage.

This type of loss is a legacy/career defining type of loss. That may sound like it's over the top, but it's not. Consider everything, Tomlin's history vs sub .500 teams lately, what could be 5 years without a playoff win for the first time since Noll took over.

The players should be ashamed of themselves for that performance and all the somberness, head hanging and all the other cliches they want to spout is meaningless.

The type of performance put forward by that team on Sunday gets people in the real world fired and players on sports teams in some of those radical middle eastern countries shot. That's way over the top, but that's how bad their performance was.

The feeling of losing in the playoff is much worse, they aren't eliminated yet.

I would disagree. It depends on how they lose and who they lose to. When they're beaten by a better team in the playoffs who is better than them, it hurts, but it's not like this. Losing in the 94 AFCCG was bad. Losing SB XXX to Dallas, bad (because they had the Cowboys on the ropes), losing to Tebow. But losing to the Pats 28-3 in 96 (stung, but the Pats were clearly better then), same with losing to the Bills in 92.

I disagree, I got over that loss to the Ravens sooner than I did with some of the playoff losses.

I'll get over it if the Steelers beat the Browns and Bills beat the Jets.

Was listening to Tunch and Wolfe today with Adam filling in... could not believe how they were defending the team on this one. This loss was really bad...

I can't tell you how bad and pitiful the Ravens looked the week before against KC.

They should feel bad. It was a gutless performance by nearly every player and coach on the team. They played/coached as if they were hungover from drinking too much of their own Kool-Aid throughout the week.

Ben played an inadequate game on all levels, physically and mentally. He looked dumb and incompetent. HE GOT OUTPLAYED BY RYAN MALLETT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

    Enjoy the off-season, Ben!

It's the NFL there are no easy wins. Any given Sunday as they say.
Steelers hit the emotional high of beating two teams, that were good.
It was almost like they felt that they had made it.

John Madden used to say, when your playing a team with nothing to lose.
It's your most dangerous opponent. For what ever reason we tend to over look
lesser teams. It happened last year and this year. Something has to change about that.

That year it costed us a first round bye.
This year it maybe but more than likely costed us a playoff spot.

If they go on to miss the playoffs, I wonder if this is the type of loss to rouse Rooney, he has shown himself to be a little different then his dad. 5 years and no playoff victory, I don't even think they did that in the 80's, without a franchise QB.

Probably not but he might be on the hot seat for next season.

Everyone wants to bring up that INT that almost was...to point out it was Ben's fault. The friggen WR let the ball go through his hands. It should have been a TD... not a pick 6. That was 100% on the WR - not Ben.

I'll give you the other 2 INT's that actually happened. That was Ben forcing it to a WR that was covered and making poor throws.

Had nothing to do with a nothing to lose team. When the D heard Mallet was starting they went, phhht. Mallet and may have rolled on the locker room floor. Till RYAN HIT THEM WITH A BIG MALLET.

I love Tunch & Wolf, they crack me up. The only problem I have with them is that they constantly defend not only the players but the coaches. They never seem to say anything bad. Sometimes they kind of make me feel better but sometimes (like now) it's just annoying.
