No Jack, they are awesome! All those 3rd down conversions, thing of beauty. Getting carved up by Ryan Mallett, I could watch that all day!

I didn't make any predictions in that thread. So I can tell you that the defense stunk almost as bad as the offense.

In the prediction thread, people were predicting a blow out, the points they had Ravens scoring would pretty much fall under garbage points. Thats all that is.

Most people who watched that game can see the defense was awful.

I do, we couldn't stop a team with 4 wins to their season, missing their Franchise QB from the run or pass. I do. LOL

42 predictions were made on this board - No one had the Steelers scoring as few as 17 points.

    The average offensive prediction......35 points.

The average defensive prediction 17 points.

13 predictions said the Ravens would get at least 20 points.

    What unit significantly underachieved today?

I never even looked at that thread this week. But yeah anyone who watched the game knows the defense stunk too. Not sure why he's stuck on Big Ben.

Really, you checked with all 42 posters. Well, then they must have expected garbage time points because the Steeler offense was so tremendous that they would have put the game away by halftime, right?

NO ONE, predicted the Steelers would score fewer than 20 points. Not a single person.

That had nothing to do with the Steelers defense.

Are you seriously trying to use some predict the score thread as a barometer on how the defense played?

All the Ben haters, as pleasant as they are to be around now, will be a real joy when he's gone and actually have a bad QB here.

Does the defense have a single all pro?

People thinking the defense lost this game are wrong. The defense wasn't great by any stretch, but they played well enough to win. Ben threw two terrible INTs which lead to 10 points for the Ravens. The defense allowed 24 yards after 1 of the INTs, which resulted in a FG (the difference in the game). 24 yards. Is that so terrible? The Baltimore kicker hit a 50 yd FG.

The HOF QB had 3 chances set up by the D down only 3 points in the last 1/3rd of the game and netted 64 total yards with an INT and people want to blame the defense as the primary reason the game was lost when NO ONE coming into this game saw THIS offense scoring less than 20 points. NOT A SINGLE PERSON.

Not really, because I don't see anybody blaming the defense for the loss. Those I've read are readily admitting the offense (and with most, Ben in particular) did not have it today. The kickback agains the defense, IMO, is that they couldn't rise up and do a little better against such a weak offense. Predicting 17-20 points allowed is rather soft considering Baltimore had averaged 11 points over its past couple of games.

Did Ben kick your dog or something? I haven't seen a single person say that the defense was the primary reason we lost. NOT A SINGLE PERSON.

Again I never made a post in that thread so you have no idea what I think. And it really doesnt mater what we predict.

    Let me dumb it down.
Big Ben and the offense stunk today.
    The defense stunk today.
Tomlin, Haley and Butler stunk today.
The team as a whole stunk today.
    You stunk today.

I see several people blaming the defense. Like I said, the defense wasn't great but they were good enough to win. After the Ravens 1st 2 drives which were both scoring drives, the defense allowed 10 points (both following INTs, which set up the Ravens in good field position and forced the Ravens to give up the ball on the other 7 drives (4 of them without gaining 10 yds).

They gave the offense several chances (3) to win the game with ONE drive and the offense couldn't do it.

There are several posts that blamed the D. Go back through the gameday threads and the main reason for the loss thread. Look the defense is average at best, with no players (present day Harrison - not 6-7 years ago) who are game changers.

Ben is HOF QB with several big time weapons against a bad defense. How people can't expect more from him than this defense doesn't make any sense?

It's like expecting an C student to get As then being disappointed when he gives you a C (defense) but letting the A student bring home a C and saying "well, it's the same as your brother, so you both stunk" One lived up to expectations and the other didn't.
