Haven't had a DHB thread in a month or so it seemed like the right time for one . Coach Haley should use DHB more with Williams beat up . DHB is the best run blocker plus he can open up Brown and force how the Broncos play him...Here is a nice article from a few days ago ..http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/12/two-steelers-wrs-make-list-for-fastest-speeds-of-2015/
Take that speed keep the Broncos from playing force on the run on that side and force them to play off of Brown on the inside of him...

On almost every play I watch when DHB lines up outside the Safety shades the sideline and the inside defender backs off . This creates mad space and we need our best hands guy Brown working that space..If the Broncs want to try that single high look then against that set they will have to shade to the DHB/Brown side leaving Bryant 1 on 1 on the other ...

I don't see DHB being much of a factor in this game, he hasn't done anything since Bryant came back.

first offensive play of the game - I would isolate Bryant on one side of the field by himself. go deep BUT if it's not there then don't force it. heath is normally wide open when we throw it into 2/3 man coverage for a pick.

I'd rather go deep on first or second then third and 2 like we normally do.

Not did anything stat wise...He does still block very well and draw double coverage . This is what I want him to do so Brown and Bryant can get open . Brown ran a bunch of routes inside DHB last week..

I like Wheatons chances in this game. Just like at the Seahawks.

I think our approach on offense will be similar to how we dealt with the Seahags defense.

With the Donkey`s offense so lame, I`m thinking maybe we win big. The only thing that could go wrong is Osweiler has a good game and keeps it close and the win somehow slips away.

The DBs seem to make a lot of QBs look elite.

Let's be fair. Everyone knows you can't just switch a player's position mid-season.

You have to wait until the playoffs for that.

This is an all hands on deck game. Every player needs to be used to their strengths. This week's prep by the coaches will be crucial.

The Steelers just need to keep doing what they're doing and not change anything on offense, because it's working. Haley and Ben are rolling, and the receivers seem to be in sync with Ben.

Yeah I fully expect Heath to be moved to Guard and AV to be our new TE. LOL!

Yup pretty much..though I wouldn't mind seeing Ben not forcing the ball into double coverage, there's no reason for it and they could be backbreakers in this game in particular. To touch on PWP's point I don't think Hey Beys as effective as he thinks unless they actually throw to him once or twice deep,so yeah I wouldn't mind seeing just 1 or 2 to keep the D honest.....

I said 1 thread a month , and I skipped a month . I always pick 1 underdog player .Sorry you don't like ,but as the Article says DHB still has huge value to the Steelers .. As I always stated he is still 1 of the fastest players in the NFL,the article also supports that .

And yes as poor as our DB'S have been that speed could be used on Defense ..

It's fairly fresh compared to the Redman love.

(And - to be fair - while that wasn't an entirely accurate prediction, it was more accurate than those of us who wrote Redman off as a camp scrub)

The problem I have with DHB is that when he lines up close to the o-line, it's usually telegraphing a run, because he's a good run blocker. He needs a few more balls thrown in his direction, and not just as the fourth checkdown, if he is to be as effective as PWP wants him to be.

Yeah I have no problem stretching them out using DHB in fact if they could get away with dressing Coates I'd throw him in there to just to back off the pass rush but they have to do more than block, DHB has to make a short completion and then stretch it, he has to catch that 25 yarder in stride otherwise back in the closet he goes.

I'm sure Phillips has lost sleep all season trying to think up ways to double cover our #4 wr that can't catch, but can block ok.

Nope he didn't lose any sleep ,but he did try and prepare. DHB had a huge effect on the game with no stats on Offense . First and foremost he was huge on ST'S as always making good open field tackles being the 1st guy down every time ..Exactly why they should play him when they go zone..Open field tackling and speed..Our D could have used that big time...

Now on to the O he came up big in freeing up WR'S when the Broncs went Single High. The most notable was the catch by Brown to take the lead . That play was set up by the big double move DHB put on earlier in the game and burnt his CB that drew a big PI call on 3rd. and 20.Haley saw this and used it late in the game and it forced the Single High to shade DHB..This is exactly what Coach PWP has been saying and Haley needs to do it more often..Pimp over, for the day...

The problem with throwing him more balls is that DHB can't catch. He probably would be a better DB. I know that he would be better than Blake.

He has improved greatly with his catching here with the Steelers . I am not really concerned about him getting more balls , just the fact he should be used to help create space for others .Teams are forced to respect his speed/blocking ability this makes him a scheme nightmare .

At least we are in full agreement on being better than Blake ..DHB on a Crack binge would be better than Blake ...
