Looking at some of the other threads made me wonder. What's the worst thing that's happened to you when wearing Steelers gear in another teams stadium?
Mine are pretty tame. I had my TT stolen at Qualcomm and WAY back when the Chargers were semi-good, I was sitting a row away from some fans who were hanging an effigy of Bradshaw.

I have only been to Cleveland twice and Buffalo once, for a preseason game. Cleveland was actually pretty tame. Some drunk guy was running his mouth when we were leaving the Bills game, but other than that, I have spent my time at Heinz Field (or Three Rivers).

I've been to San Diego, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Tennessee twice in 2013 and in 08 when the towel stomping happened with Lindale White Kieth Bullock(or whatever his name is), just a few arguments with Titans fans that were mad about how we took over their stadium... Never really had any trouble because everyone was like a home game... Even in New Orleans

It didn't happen to me but I witnessed 3 Steelers fans get pummeled by at least 25 (no exaggeration) Detroit Lions fans back in 1989 at the Pontiac Silverdome. It was a major beatdown. The Steelers fans held up well with the first 5 or 6 punks but then it was too much when all the others joined in.

Damn! That's like a Giants fan at Dodger stadium. Hope those guys were okay.

Have been to the Metradome twice, once for preseason ( that had some words, but nothing came of it...only about 100 steeler fans there ) and the other time was a late season game when we were making our run to super bowl 40...ALOT of black and gold at that game. Even over heard a couple of vikes fans complaining ( in very quite voices, mind you) about the amount of steeler fans. Was also at arrow head, and was actually thanked by a couple of chiefs fans for coming . They said the place would have been empty with out all the steeler fans. Great time in K.C.

It was by far the worst sports audience experience I've ever witnessed. We were about 30 rows away and one section over. Hate to say it but those Steelers fans brought it on themselves. Drunk, Beligerant, Shirts off, horrible language and all of them 280 or more pounds. Surprised it took to the 4th qtr for it all to go down but when it started they were instantly mauled by the whole section of Lions fans around them.

I've been to multiple games in Jacksonville and D.C.

Jacksonville was tame in the stands, but old ladies drunk on the busses to the stadium were obnoxious and foul mouthed.

D.C. once during a pre-game was a little banter with some old heads late in the game when I was just watching the scrubs play. The other time was the Monday Night game where we just took that stadium over! I had pretty good seats in the lower bowl portion about 10 rows

Back in 92 I went to the Chiefs Steelers game at arrowhead. We were pretty much kicking the crap out of them I believe we won the game 27-3 Woodson returned a punt for a touchdown.
Anyway some of thier drunk fans decided that it would be a good idea to throw stuff at us and pour beer on us.
I got face-to-face with a couple guys and security showed up. They were going to toss me out until some other Chiefs fans told them how the drunks were acting and what they did. Got an apology from security and the drunk idiots got thrown out.

In M&T we were getting yelled at all game, and when Ravens scored they shook their beer so the foam sprayed out over us.

Ravens won, the jagoffs were nice to us when it was over... and they complimented us on our QB Ben, this was during the Kyle Boller years.

I don't think I will ever go to an away game again. And I think especially a game that isn't a 1pm game. Those night games give people all day to drink and become belligerent.

I was in Tennessee when several fans were jeering us and complaining about all the Steeler fans there but nothing bad. I was in Heinz field three years ago when some drunk Steeler fans were giving two female Bengals fans a really hard time. I witnessed two older male Steeler season ticket holders approach the drunk Steelers fans and tell them to shut the he$$ up because we are Steelers fans and not trash. They told them if they didn't sit down and shut up they could leave. That is what we are about Steelers=manners.

Last year went to the Panthers game where we completely took over that stadium, and killed them. It was a Sunday night game so everyone had plenty of time to drink during the day but nothing bad. Alot of complaints about the number of Steeler fans there but nothing bad. Had a gentleman sitting behind me who said that I kept hitting him with my towel, but that was not the case. He was just an ass. Next year going to DC with the wife, should be interesting as I will be the only Steeler fan along for the trip as her whole family grew up Skins fans.
For the most part from what I've seen if you go into someone elses house and act respectable then you wont have a problem, but there is always several ignorant asses who just look for trouble, sad to say.

I have only gone to Cleveland (twice) 2005,2007. Went to the game in 05 where Harrison slammed the Browns fan that ran on to the field.

I got pushed in the men's room while taking a leak at the urnial, just as I was zipping up.

Good thing I'm no Ron Jeremy, or I might have touched the urinal with my manhood.

I cocked back my fist, but when I seen like 30 Browns fans ready to pounce. I decided I better just laugh it off.

In the words of Ron White. "I'm not sure how many of them it would have taken to kick my butt, but I knew how how many they were going to use."

I guess Mike Royko was right all those years ago. San Diego fans really are "Lotus Eaters". The only times I can remember hearing about violence is when the Raiders are in town. When the Steelers come to town, the biggest thing is for a Charger fan to steal a Terrible Towel! Gives them some kind of "points", I guess. They need them 'cause the team doesn't put 'em on the scoreboard!

    :laughs:

Only game I wore Steelers garb to was in Green Bay in 1992, we lost 17-3. I was 12 at the time and sitting up in a box so didn't get much grief at all. Just some polite adult banter at a kid: "A STEELERS shirt?!" Stuff like that, harmless. It was a great environment. I've been to a few more GB games and have never witnessed the fans being unruly to supporters of the opposing team.

Never had any problems in SD, SF or LA/Anaheim (vs the Rams), but going to a Raider games in LA was always nasty - last time I saw them in LA was that early 90's playoff game and I bought the most expensive tickets I could find thinking I'd escape the lunacy but I found myself right smack in the middle of the San Quentin alumni section - everyone around me looked like Danny Trejo from Machete. I bought those next to us beers a few times and it worked out well -they were all passed out by mid 3rd Qtr. The folks in SF were really refined upper crust cake eaters who kept to themselves.

I was at Qualcomm when the Steelers were here earlier this season. On my way into the stadium from tailgating, some jackass ran up in my face with the Chargers towelette screaming that it was the "real terrible towel". I just said, "Nice try. But I hope you have a good game." I then continued toward the stadium. He kept following me. I kept ignoring him. He got tired and stopped. The end.

I didn't go this year. I love the white towels that get handed out (for free) at Qualcomm. My nephew was dumbfounded when I told him that we pay for our TTs.

I thought they lined the streets and threw eggs and booed the opposing teams buses?

Wait that was a Beats by Dre commercial....

I was at that 08 game as well and I got harassed constantly but in fairness to them I talked tons of smack the whole game and when we lost these dudes said "Why don't u drink some shut up juice!!!???" And I said "If it was warm I would!" And we just laughed about it and I told them to have a good one. It was FREEZING that day and last year it was too. Last year was the coldest game ever there. I dressed warm though and it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

The TTs though are helping others. Unless I am mistaken some of the proceeds of the TT sales go to charity? I really dont know?

I actually remember seeing you there, Thursday night in 2013 after the game when you had the sign but I didn't come all the down there because we lost and I didn't want to hear Matt Hasselback speak... I had no problems that night like the little I had in 08

That's cool dude! Yep I had the sign with me. You should have came down and said hey. That would have been awesome.
