    To all steeler fans

I am a long time steeler fan ... Guess that means I am 50 something ...

Anyway, last year I made it to my first steeler home game with my 12 yr old son ... They beat kc to gain a playoff spot

I teach high school math and live in Ottawa (9 hours away) so getting to a steeler game is tricky ... Anyway we drove to watch them play earlier this year in St. Louis ... Now that was a drive ... We hung on to beat the Rams but lost Ben ... So the 17 hr drive home was disappointing

To the point, I have been thinking about going to the steeler/ bronco game this Sunday but the ticket prices have gone wild ... If I drive to the game with my son how good are my chances of picking up a couple of tickets outside the stadium?

I am willing to go 4 hours early and hunt for somebody with a spare ticket two and don't mind if the tickets are not together. I am hoping to find someone who's friend couldn't make the game and buy their ticket for a fair price .. 100 or a bit more

    Cheers, Jon

if you try stub hub or one of the online ticket places often prices go down greatly as the game time approaches. last year we went to a Saint games getting tickets the morning of - paid about $80 for $175 tickets.

    Jon,

Don't drive expecting to scalp for a little over hundred. Expect to pay $175-to $200 a ticket. For upper levels.
Tickets have gone crazy for this game. If you can get one for $150 that isn't bad.

    Reasons:

1.Weather, It's been very warm December here in PA.
    2. The likelihood of a home steelers playoff game is slim. So this is more than likely the last home game for the year.
    3. The Broncos are a good draw. This isn't a bad team they are playing.
    4. People were hyping this game up months ago that this would be one of the last Peyton games. But, looking like Osweiler instead.
    5. It will be a playoff atmosphere because every game counts.

I teach probability and statistics and logic says that everything you are telling me is so true ... If a scalper can't get close to 200 for this game then we steeler fans are just loud mouths ... With this said, My son and I liked the drive last year ... I guess I could watch the Penguins play on Saturday night and I am Canadian ... And I like hockey but football is number one ... And I would rather see this Steeler game than game 7 of the Stanley cup ...

No fun when somebody tells you the truth and it isn't what you want to hear ... Damn Canadian dollar is only worth 70 cents U.S. now

Anyway I do appreciate your reply ... Maybe a trip to Pittsburgh with a 10% chance of getting tickets is worth it ...

    Thanks

Is the Steeler Ticket Exchange any nicer price wise vs. Stub Hub?

Hi Jon. Welcome to the board. As a Canadian that has to drive to games I feel your pain. I have been many times to Heinz and once to TRS. You should expect to pay 150 or more for tickets unless you want to wait until the game starts. Likely tickets which are being scalped will drop once the game starts. Sometimes on this forum you will find tickets when people are not able to go. I saw it in the last couple of weeks. Keep your eyes peeled on this site.

    good luck

Thanks for the reply busman ... Last year I paid $80 usd for tickets to the Bengal game just before Xmas .... There is a possibility I take the family to Pitt ... They can watch the Penguins play sat night and I will be totally free sunday afternoon ... With such flexibility I should be able to score a ticket as scalper so begin to panic to get rid of tickets ... Worst case I sit in a bar and watch the game with REAL steeler fans ... Ouc Canadian dollar is so bad right now ... Doing anything in the U.S. Is expensive

That is a decent ticket price .. Wow. I have taken my family and friends to the Burgh and they loved it. It really is a beautiful city. From what I understand being a steel town it was not always a good looking city. Likely similar to our Hamilton. Your right.. They do panic nearer game time in fact they will buy as well .. Sold some last year and upgraded through the same scalper. Our dollar is really bad and your right and as a math teacher I am sure you have done the math on the exchange lol

On your way through picking up Shaner in Kingston you can stop in at Trenton and get me.. :)

I lived in Kingston for 12 years ... Played touch football most of those years ... If I wasn,t married with kids I just might have picked you guys up .... A couple of my best friends are still in Kingston ...my wife is against the trip ... If my son loved football as much as I do then I could use him as leverage and the trip would be a done deal ... If I don't go I think I might go to Kingston and watch the game with my buddy Moyser

If you read this post busman ... I lived in Belleville for 6 years too ... Went to loyalist college for chem tech...

    GO STEELERS!

Been a long time since I've seen resale ticket prices this high for a Steelers game.
Prices are almost playoff game type of prices.

If you have a ticket and are lucky enough to go. Heinz should be rocking and rolling tomorrow.
