So headbutting a concrete wall and jumping onto the goal post is the same thing to you, Busman?

    It's not a concrete wall, it's padded.
Basically the same thing...a TD celebration involving needlessly slamming yourself into a padded object that should have been a fairly benign action. One wasn't, and thankfully one was.

Its a concrete wall with an inch of padding. Really dont see how headbutting one is remotely the same as jumping onto the goal post.

I'd say they're pretty similar. The metal post also has padding (I can't speak to the exact thickness), just like the wall. Frerotte was wearing a helmet; I'm sure AB was wearing a cup. I would say chances either would get hurt doing what they did would rate as 'unlikely', but as the infamous Frerotte incident showed, sh*t happens.

Look, I get it's part of AB's personality. And as such, I chuckled when he did it.. Would I prefer he willingly choose not to do it? Sure - he 's one of the most dynamic players in the league; I'd like to take every precaution to ensure his safety. But Brett Favre used to streak down the sidelines and fly onto a receiver after a TD pass - could he have hurt himself (or the WR) doing it? Yeah, but it's who he was.

In the end it's grown men playing a child's game. Having some fun and acting like a child, imo, is par for the course. And using a golf analogy to explain a football situation feels.. strange.

Made of aluminum and a lot more padding, since its in the back of the endzone and much more likely to be hit. A foot of padding and upwards to 18 inches.

The key difference though is, one headbutted and the other hugged. Not sure what it is you guys are fearing AB is going to hurt unless you are concerned for his package :smiley1:

Also, helmets don't do much to prevent concussions, they primarily keep you from cracking your head open. Concussions are caused from the brain bouncing off the skull.

To each their own, entertained the heck out of me though, loved the TD and laughed my ass off over the celebration. :thumbs up:

Lol, well naturally I didn't expect Brown would be injuring his noggin' on that kind of leap.

But like I said, I thought the possibility of him getting hurt was unlikely. It was all in good fun.

Brown is just making sure that he won't pass Cromartie and Rivers as having the most kids in the NFL.

good thing this didn't happen in New England. The padding may have been thinned.:smiley1:
