Jordan Todman is already on the roster and is usually the up back. He had 3 good seasons at Jacksonville returning kicks.

I'm tellin' ya something's gotten in his head. He's tentative on every kick - scared even.

I'd be happy and surprised if he breaks... a sweat.

I'm still pissed a team that's rebuilding it's defense wasted a pick on a novelty

It happens. Over the years the Steelers have spent 3rd round picks on the likes of Dri Archer, Chris Conrad, Paul Wiggins, Willie Reid and Bruce Davis.

Yep. My sentiments have been just that since he got here. I was initially excited to see what he could do but then the anger just returned.

Also I would be willing to help them out in the return game. I can't be any worse than Jones.

I've always hated it. It's a luxury pick that a rebuilding team can't afford. It also annoys the hell out of me they keep doing it. First they sign Logan and then draft Reed, Rainey, Archer. Out of those 4 Logan has done the most by far, but we let him walk away after one season.

I think something's gotten into every Steeler kick returner this year - punts and KO's - even AB has been rather sucky. Obviously a Special Team blocking related coaching issue. A change might be in order - soon! Any decent return (which are few and far between) are regularly accompanied by a penalty.

I see the reasoning on Archer, but why would you consider OTs, WR and OLB as novelty draft picks?

I think he just means bad picks.

Todman seems to be in the Boykin club for some reason (on kick returns at least). Everything points to them being a decent player, but we don't see them on the field...

yes I agree. The Steelers seem to go out of a comfort zone on some things (2 pt conversions, going for it on 4th lately) but seem very rigid on playing some players. Do they give Boykin an opportunity to see how he does on the outside when Blake is nursing an injury and is rated as one of the worst corners by PFF and others? Do they keep Golden in when he played well in Will Allens absence? Eventhough it's probably Allen's last year and Golden is younger and they need another safety for next year. Do they play Todman when his past performance on another team indicates he could be a better option than Archer or Jones? No they want to settle for being OK.
