He wasn't signed, so no, he's not a Jet.

Very low chance of us playing the Jets.

They way we are now, it be like a 5th and 6th seed. Only way that would go down would be in the AFC championship game. I don't think a 5th and 6th seed have ever played each other in a conference championship game.

I hope they do sign him and we do play them ...That is advantage us he has no clue when to come out and when to stay...We may be able to hit him on the 1 yard line the way he hesitates .....Well maybe the 2 is more realistic...

How is this any different from Jacoby Jones?

At least he kept the same number. #13. Dri Jones/Jacoby Archer. The only difference is their age which doesn't benefit the Steelers.

I had seen enough of Archer to know he would not get better at it ...I hope some time with the unit gets Jones back to half of what he used to be.....If no better after the off week then I give up on him as well...

I don't care where he goes as long as it's not the Patriots

    He's not even a Shark - more like a diminutive Smelt. ;)

Yeah - this is what I fear. Belichick has this habit of making other teams' castoffs into SB heroes.

Can we cut the steaming pile of garbage we have returning kicks now and get Archer back?

This (minus the Archer part). Something's wrong with Jones, he's a head case. Perhaps why SD didn't want him anymore.

You know of someone available who's better than Archer? Then fine. I can't name anyone at the moment...

Neither is worth much but Id take Archer over Jones, at least he has youth and speed on his side. Jones looks even worse then Archer did, hes done.

Better the steaming pile you know than the steaming pile you don't?

Something like that. The one we knew was a little less steaming.

Keep AB returning punts... Put Wheaton in on KO's and cut the garbage already.

Something I've always wondered about re-signing a player that we've cut. Not saying we should, but let's say we re-sign archer. Would his dead money from the cut and his new salary both count against our cap? A player like Lamarr Woodley or Willie Colon may be a better example of this. Say we brought him back while his dead money was still counting towards our cap?

As for Jacoby Jones, right now he doesn't look like the answer for us as a returner and probably won't be.
If we've learned anything as Steelers fans it's don't expect a player to come in and light it up from the get-go. Although for a kick/punt returner i'd imagine the playbook could be printed on a Post-it note!

Once Jones breaks one, all will be forgotten. Must be the Bye week...

Not sure how much that would be from a rookie contract with a year remaining. Not enough to ruffle the feathers in your flock though :smiley1:

Not too much really in the grand scheme of things, but he had more than one year remaining. Dead money is somewhere in the $300K range without looking.

No problem. Doran Grant is a current example of this.
