Time for a new DHB thread....I am not going to release the numbers yet;;;; But 1 thing is evident in the stats...When DHB is on the field this Team has longer pass plays and better pass completions...

Also when DHB is on the field this Team has a better Yards Per Attempt average and a better Yards Per Rush average ....Are these things just luck ? Or are Teams forced to respect his speed and forced to deal with his blocking ability ????

I know the answer to those questions....The stats show the answer to those questions.....Don't just look at the highlight reels , become a true fan of the game and break down the tape and see what's really going on..

After we discuss it then I will show you the evidence that proves the case I have been making all along...

DHB has not had a catch since Bryant has been back. That's the last five weeks that he has not caught a ball.
By comparison Wheaton has caught at least 1 catch in every game this year.
If you're suggesting that DHB is the reason for our success then you my friend are delusional. You can float out whatever trumped stats you want, but at the end of the day we're talking about a WR that has never been able to catch consistently that has speed. By this logic we could have just lined Dri Archer up at WR and had him run deep to draw coverage.
It's one thing to pimp a guy and say you think he'll have a breakout year and another to grasp at anything and argue it to death to try and prove your unfounded claims.
    Guy's a decent 4th or 5th WR that's it and that's ok.

Yeah you're going to need the popcorn. I'll say one thing for PWP. he don't give up. That can be a great quality and can also be a detriment.

Yeah, I may be as big as Big Snack after this thread. It's gonna be a LOT of popcorn.

For the record, I'm happy to have DHB on the roster. He's been a good special teamer, and can do some damage in a pinch on offense. However, he's a long, long way from NFL stardom, and - no - AB and Bryant do not owe their success to DHB.

You are correct no one owes anything to anyone ... The point being different skill sets provide more chances for Players around them ... Those Players are the ones who have to make the play... And lets keep it real sometimes draft picks get afforded more chances than others and just because they get those chances in no way does that make them better Football Players...You feel me ?

I just don't get the nonstop pimping of this guy. Same thing he did with Issac Redman.
DHB didn't even play against the Browns, How on earth were we able to get the ball to any of our other WR without him?

oh I remember his man crush on redman. He's going to average 20 yards per carry under haley. I got his tape from pop warner, high skule, and college. I clocked his carries and his real speed is like 4.1 when you extrapolate the numbers and divide by the lunar rotation around pluto.

What other players are on the field when we have a better Yards Per Attempt? Maybe it also has something to do with them??? I'm going with Ben Roethlisberger. I'm gonna say when Ben Roethlisberger is on the field we have a better Yards Per Attempt average. Just guessing, honestly and admittedly, but still.

I do too. I've said a couple of times that I think he was unfairly labeled a bust because the stupid Raiders just really reached for him in that draft. I think he's a good teammate and a good role player. I don't think he's consistent enough to be a "star" per se but I do think he has more than earned his spot on the roster.

Maybe it has a little to do with how much attention you give it. :hmm: :lolol:

Look, most said Redman wouldn't make the roster that first camp and PWP knew he would. A couple years ago IIRC, you said he'd get cut and he ended up starting over Dwyer. Point is I guess that it seems somewhat petty to root against a Steeler just because one or two particular fans root enthusiastically for them.

Well, by the Raiders in the hay day of stupid Raiders drafting. Let's not go crazy.

Just as I predicted once Bryant returns DHB production would next to nothing.

Oh Redman was the worst. Literally the worst. I can at least see the pimping of DHB because he actually has a redeeming quality or two as a football player. Redman had none. How Isaac Redman even made an NFL 53 is beyond me.

I guess I should be thankful for him. After Mendenhall bugged out, we knew we had the WORST RB committee in the league since Redman was the best one we had (Dwyer and Felix Jones!)... And that led to us drafting my guy Bell.

Maybe it has something to do with the majority of big plays (for any offense) coming out of multiple WR sets? The more WR's on the field, the better the chance for a pass. Passes have a much better chance of going for a big play than runs.

No one needs to look at any tape... We watched the game and I didn't even remember seeing him on the field. We have one of the premier young deep threats in the game and the best all around WR in the NFL, and you want us to believe a ST specialist WR4 who hasn't caught a ball in 5 games is drawing so much attention?

I like DHB, and he filled in very well when Bryant was out... But now that he's back, he is an afterthought on the very few snaps that he gets during the games.

I tried to stay out of the thread, I realize most of it is more trollish than actual substance... But I couldn't help myself lol

DHB drops more balls then young teenagers.

Just kidding. I actually like him aswell, but there's no way that he has much of an impact. The last few games I've only remember seeing him on special teams once or twice and on a few dropped passes. These drops are seemingly on 3rd downs (memory), which could correlate to another thread on these forums about how bad our third down conversions have been. Coincidence? Probably.

Don't get me wrong, Bryant has had made way more drops!! Big ones.

If my memory serves me well didn't he have a HUGE catch on the last drive of the Chargers game? Vick threw way high and he went straight up and snatched it while also taking the hit. He's done his job in my book. Pulling through when needed most !!

Come on guys. He was the only one catching balls when Vick was QB, so there's that!

He's also a way better blocker than Brown or Wheaton, which is ok because you want him out there blocking when Brown is catching balls.

I think Bryant can be a great blocker as well, but we'll see. I've seen him blow out of press coverage right through the jam, so I'm incouraged.

Wheaton, to honest I haven't seen too many of his blocks, but DHB can and does block well for the other guys as well as running plays.
