They should cut Jones he's washed up, split the duties between Todman and Wheaton.

Like I said back when we signed him, the Ravens were desperate for WR help just before we signed Jones, and they didn't even give him a call. What does that tell you? Maybe he can turn it around, but I won't shed a tear if he departs during the bye week.

I think our coverage teams have improved dramatically. I used to be nervous every time we kicked off. I can't remember what year, 2011 or 12, but we gave up like 4 (maybe more) return TDs in one season to lose games. It was awful.

Our returns are not good, but our coverage has been excellent.

I'm interested as to why they don't use Wheaton more. You would have thought, the way the WR situation is playing out, he would be pushing hard to show what he can do on ST. Maybe he is? Who knows.

Looking at NFL stats, Archer is still 8th in the league in kick returns with a 25.3 yard average. Based on the numbers alone, the young man got the shaft unless there is stuff involved we haven't heard about.

Jones looks like he is squatting to take a dump when he tries to catch a punt!

I'm really confused why they don't think Wheaton can't handle kick and punt returns, or even Hey-Bay.

Wheaton should be the obvious choice. He really hasn't contributed too much on offense. He's returned kickoffs before and I'm looking for a reason to keep him around.

JJ should have been cut at halftime..... sheesh, what a poor excuse for an NFL player

There has to be more to the story with Archer. Wonder if he was beginning to become a locker room cancer due to his lack of playing time. JJ needs to be shown the door and tryouts need to happen this week to find a replacement. Can't have ball security issues and can't have our all world WR returning punts every game. I would start looking over the waiver wire and practice squad rosters to find JJ's replacement.

Jacoby Jones has really gone bad this past year. Looks slow and out of shape with a little pot belly.

I doubt Dri was a locker room cancer... from all reports he is a soft-spoken dude.

Well he was ranked 10th in average, I think it was mostly due to him not knowing when to come out or when to take a knee, which played a part in the loss to Bengals.

Also some of it has to be disappointment that his speed is not translating to the on the field game.

I live in the DC area and I remember that when the Steelers signed him away from the Redskins a lot of the fan base here was happy to be rid of him. They seemed to suffer from the same things we are at present.

As somebody else noted, the coverage units seem to be doing their job at a high level. It's the return units that can't get any traction whatsoever. Also, I seem to recall the broadcast saying that the blocked FG and punt this year were the first since 2011. I would think that improvements can be made in that area, if that is indeed true.

Jordan Todman is a capable and safe kickoff returner. He averaged 25 yards per return at UCONN, and I don't recall him ever muffing one. He never returned punts though.

I have been saying the same thing. He averaged this for Jax:

    19.5 on 4 returns - 2012
    27.4 on 26 returns - 2013
    25.6 on 38 returns - 2014

He's had 1 return for 22yds with us so far. Jones needs to be shown the door. Not sure why we went after him in the first place without trying our options already on the roster.

He had a nice return yesterday and got horse tackled in the process, so it wasn't all a lost cause. Probably the least of their worries at the moment.

Why don't we just cut our losses with the both of them and let S. Coates return kicks. That's one way to get some playing time. He has speed....and of course, he can do no worse
