The same could be said about every coach in the league at some point during the season.

I don't really think time management was the ultimate reason they lost that game. That was due to the officials calling back that Beckham TD. And they also missed a blatant hold on the Patriots final drive.

The media nitpicks over clock management sometimes, in the game today vs the Browns when the Steelers got stopped on the goal line stand and then the Browns were stopped in the 2nd qtr with a 1:00 left. Some media guy from Pittsburgh was complaining on Twitter because Tomlin wasted like 6 seconds before calling timeout, the Browns had to punt from their own endzone the Steelers were going to get the ball inside the 50 yd line.

All I know is that every coach should be dissecting what the Giants do against NE, they have their number. Should have ended NE's quest for perfection, again.

Yup. Blatant hold. Can only hope the Pats go 16-0 again and lose in the playoffs.

Not sure it was Coughlin being bad as much as it was BB being brilliant at it. How you have the ball with just a tad over two minutes to play and are at midfield and can't get anymore than maybe 40 secs to run off while getting to what the five yard line is just, I don't know witchcraft. Then to have zero timeouts and move the ball forty some yards in less than a minute WTF. I don't want to get too picky but I have never seen so much movement before a snap of the ball as I saw on those last few plays for NE and not have a false start penalty called. OLine still shifting WR's getting set and Brady still throws the ball to the sidelines and it counts.

Brady handed them an INT as well but the DB couldn't haul it in.

No ref wants to decide the game ....The Patriots will get the breaks and a Team will have to beat them and the refs so to speak ... The Giants had it done , but didn't have a closing running game .....When you play a Team like the Pats you best be able to run to close out games...

I personally thought that was an INT, his elbow hitting the ground makes him down right? possessed the ball to the ground, elbow touches and then he rolls over it and the ball comes out. It is that stupid football move thing that mess people up these days.

I never want to have a ref be the deciding factor either but there were at least three plays were they placed the ball and Brady and his center snapped it and everyone including the refs thought it was going to be a spike and it wasn't. I can understand some leeway on a spike the ball to kill the clock but come on guys were still moving and not set.

Coughlin was guilty of coaching malpractice. Absolutely no excuse. He failed coaching 101.

This isn't about a difference of opinion over strategy, this is about Coughlin wearing his underwear over his pants. Senility has kicked in, and he needs to be relieved of his duties.

I was vexed at the play calling on the Giants last drive. They could have easily burned another minute or more off the clock and also forced the Pats into using their lst time out. A gift.

Agree, the Giants could of run the ball in their last series at least 3 times in row. Make the Patriots use their lone time out, kick their field goal and leave about 30 seconds on the clock and take my chances in stopping them. But when they left 1: 50 some seconds the Giants were doomed against the best quarterback in the league. This is a game the Patriots should have lost. Just poor coaching decisions at the end by the Giants. That was very un Cougthlin like.

Run the ball 3 times. You might have even scored running the ball. You don't give Brady a minute 50 and only needing 3 points to beat you the ball.

I don't think the Pats allowed them to run time off the clock. The Giants ran Jennings for about 6 yards, the Pats quickly called a time out with 2:15 left, the next play they basically gave up the sidelines knowing if Manning hits the receiver over there it will kill the clock and he did and they still hadn't hit the 2 min warning. They lineup and hit Beckham Jr in the end zone play reviewed and overturned. Go for it again incomplete. Thire down Manning rolls out and slides in bounds and the Pats call timeout. Still a minute and change left.

It's exactly what Tomlin does, Coughlin didn't live in his fears. What he did, and what Tomlin does, is the definition of that saying. They do things they shouldn't do because they believe it will work and they're not scared to take a chance. The problem is, sometimes you do need to live in your fears and realize that if it doesn't work, you're putting the game at risk.

Coughlin should have run that ball 3 times in a row. Not only do they possibly score a TD, but they run much more time off the clock if it gets to 3rd down.

Regardless of how they lost.... I would think that we should have some coaches calling Coughlin for his insider secrets on the Pats. NYG are the only team to consistently give the Pats a run for their money..... they gotta know some ultra top secret spygate type stuff on Brady.

Yeah, play press man and bring the pass rush. Also, for the most part, the Giants seem to be a well-tackling team. And FWIW, I was watching Eli yesterday. I think he's really matured this year as a QB. He seems to be making the smart decision, and won't take a hit if he can prevent it. The Giants play smart football, even if it doesn't always work.

The league just announced they screwed the pooch, AGAIN, in the Ravens/Jags game and should have flagged the Jags for a false start on the final play. Funny they admit that hte line wasn't set in that game but not for the Pats.
