Have to disagree with you on this PWP.. Doctors are more qualified then people who have been around sports for 25 years. If he says go then you go

    Ugh.... armchair doctors...

First of all, it's a mid foot sprain, not ankle. Secondly, you're qualified to say that he "probably" tweaked his knee? You took a break from casting DHB's bronze hall of fame bust to give us these medical opinions?

I said it in another thread...

I don't think they are doing it to mess with the other team either. Just sit down and rest for two weeks.

Just want to add, as soon as I saw Ben go down on that sack I thought that if he had not injured his knee, he would of out gotten out of that sack, like he has done many times before. I guess you could say his first injury led to this injury due to his lack of mobility. My concern is how much mobility can he possible have this week? Can he step into his throws? He was stepping into his throws last week but not in the Cincy game.

You would think the staff would look at some of these items, but you never know, just like the San Francisco game a few years ago and he went out there on one leg. Somehow I don't trust the staff and they do what Ben says. Ben just needs to be smart about this.

My take on it is this....if we can't beat Cleveland at home mind you without Ben then really what's the point.. We are going nowhere. We need a fully healthy Ben to have a chance at making any kind of noise down the stretch.

So, it's looks to me like you are saying that Ben shouldn't play...which is what I said in my post above? Not really sure why you disagreed with it lol

I have to laugh at how people read into an article, Ben said the Doc and trainers told him to ice it to get the swelling down, rest it, and let it heal, they didnt say you can practice this week on it, and play Sunday, rest assured Ben will not play Sunday.........

If Ben won't rule himself out then I say Tomlin should do it for him. I just keep thinking back to 2011 when he got hurt and was allowed to still play and went to SF on one leg. Then we wound up getting Tebowed in the end. It just makes me nervous is all. Also AV has been blown up a few times and resulted in big hits on the qb. Ben's mobility is already lessened by the fact that his knee is still healing and then add to that a foot that's not working as well and it just seems risky to me.

Players can lie to their Dr's .Not everything will show up on a MRI .There are plenty of documented cases where fractures and such have been missed . We had a very good RB 2 years ago that 2 so called expert DR'S cleared to play because they missed the fracture. He took another hit and broke his ankle severely .This cost him his Scholarship and the rest of his Football and Baseball career..

The bottom line is I don't trust a DR. more than I trust my own eyes . I seen Ben get rolled up on I watched him limp off the field and he will not be near 100 % this week....Is the knee even fully healed ? Coach T should shut him down even if the Dr. clears him..It is the job of a good Coach to protect players from themselves if need be....

I don't disagree with you. I did see that I punched the disagree button instead of the agree button on your post. My fingers must be too fat. I went back and corrected it. Thanks.

Ok, I'm going to chime in with another un-needed opinion here. Maybe he couldn't escape the sack because of his knee but what happened to his foot would have happened whether his knee was a brand-new, robotic, titanium steel knee with re-enforced space technology bending plates. His ankle made some kind of shape that can only be described by engineers. That being said...it is a sprain. The only person that really knows when a sprain is healed is the person with the sprain. My 2 cents that no one asked for!

Id like to think that NFL teams are employing better doctors to look after their million dollar investment's than that are evaluating HS kids. 2 "experts" that missed a fracture shouldn't be practicing medicine.

I agree about the part with the coaches though, it's up to them whether someone should play or not and how effective that player will be under such conditions once a doctor gives the green light.

Exactly! The coach should get the info from the team Doctor, talk with the player and then make a decision.

Exactly 2 experts that missed a fracture should not be practicing.Yet this is very common it happens all the time .. These where supposed to be the best Sports Medicine guys in the state. A lot of medicine is still just Best Guess type of stuff .

If Ben plays then the Browns will Blitz early and often. He'll have to get the ball out quick. If that happens I can see DeAngelo having another huge game.
