Bell Placed On IR, Pead Signed

Pead is behind Archer on the depth chart. Just wanted to put that out there.

 

My friends D'Angelo Williams is the RB for the rest of the year,
Pead is just an insurance policy for depth reasons. This should
spell the end of the Dri Archer experiment. Thanks KC, MT, Todd Haley

Made totally no sense, there just is not enough touches for Dri to warrant a third down draft
choice.

 

Maybe so, but I'll bet the first one of these two to get a carry will be Isiah Pead. Last year they brought in a guy off the street (Ben Tate) and gave him carries in playoff game instead of Archer. I don't see that anything has changed since that will make them act differently.

 

...Or maybe due to him violating the substance abuse policy in 2013 or even performance due to his torn ACL on a kickoff return in 2014.

 

Maybe a slight difference - a) Tate is a different kind of RB, and more akin to Bell in that regard; b) he was a prototypical "wily veteran" with play off experience, so there was sense in plugging him in and c) he shared carries with Archer, probably in an effort to keep the defense off-balance. Obviously, none of those points turned out to be any help whatsoever in the actual game.

In many ways, Tate was there to spell Harris, rather than Archer.

But still, I wouldn't see the Pead signing in the same way as the Tate one.
