It's looking like a 8-8 season, too many injuries to starters to overcome. Add in the suspensions of Bell and Bryant to start the season, the offense still haven't played a complete game together all season. To rebound they need to get on a winning streak of 4-5 games. It's almost time to start thinking about the draft next year.

I generally don't surrender until the battle is over. I'll admit to being really disheartened right now, especially because I think this team is GOOD- but being crippled by injuries. What a great defensive effort wasted.

This team is playing hard, and I still think they are a wild card when it is over.

I agree. The division is most likely out of reach, but one of the 2 wild card spots is still attainable if we get rolling. The defense has been vastly better than it was last season. Even with the injuries, we're pretty darn solid on that side of the ball. I'm nowhere near waving the white flag, but I'm pretty ticked off today.

This season is far from over. We can still get a wild card spot. Unless Bell tore his ACL, he may play again this year. Besides, there's enough time in the off season to think about the draft, do we really need to start thinking about ti now? How exactly will that help us?

Wel.... I'd be thinking about the draft even if we were 8-0 and unstoppable. I certainly hope the guys we employ in college scouting are thinking about it as well. But.... I get your point.

A mediocre AFC will probably let a team with a 9-7 record be a WC. That said, our season is still far from over.

Yeah, we're an also-ran, but there's still a lot to play for. The 5-seed, whoever it is, will be rewarded with a game against the AFC South 'champion,' and who knows? Maybe the Bengals after (would rather play a #1 seeded Bengals team than Pats)? We have to stop doing stupid things (which is unlikely), but the possibility of that path to the AFC championship game is a lot to get up for.

I wouldn't bet on that happening, this team can barely win two in a row so winning eight in a row to be 12-4 that ain't happening.

They're 4-4. They couldn't be the Ravens or Bengals at home, so it's unlikely that they'll win either on the road. They're not winning in Seattle. The Bronco defense is better than anyone they've played this year. There is 4 potential losses.

They already have 4 conference losses so they'll lose just about any tiebreaker other than HTH with SD (who isn't getting in). The Jets have an easier schedule and so do the Raiders. They better win next week vs Oakland and you'd think they will, but Oakland is better than KC and Baltimore so don't be shocked if they don't.

Just sit everyone, get the draft pick and get everyone healthy for next year.

This team could easily be 7-1 despite the injuries, but they've given away 3 games.

Yeah 12-4 at this point is very unlikely, but anything is possible. Just very premature to give up on the season IMO.

I think that deflating feeling for me isn't just the Bell injury and the loss. It is the realization that pro football simply isn't enjoyable...at least not as much as it used to be. Sure, injuries have always been a part of this sport, but not like now. And I am not just talking as a Steelers fan, but an NFL fan. The Super Bowl champ isn't usually the best team. It is the luckiest team, the one that manages to dodge the land mines. Hard to find that enjoyable.

That's maybe a little unintended consequence of the salary cap. Really teams just can't have the depth they once did when the vast majority of their money goes to a very few on the team. That's why when the stars go down the games become hard to watch because you can't afford to have another star backing them up.

I haven't given up yet, it just not looking too good. Too many injuries and a tough schedule it looks kind of bleak.

I'm normally a look at the positives when it comes to the Steelers, but I'm ready to jump on the fire Tomlin bandwagon. (not really, but some of the stuff he does gets very frustrating at times) For me personally the Steelers are more to me than just wins and losses, I might feel differently though if we were like the Browns or Rams.

4-12 is just as likely as 12-4.

Well, 12-4 is very unlikely, but with our roster 4-12 is basically impossible without us throwing games. My concern is that we may finish around 9-7 and just miss.

    12-4 is just as impossible.

More likely to lose than win in Seattle
More likely to lose vs Denver than win (even at home - Denver's D is crushing GB who is better than Pit)
More likely to lose in Balt and Cincy (lost to both at home)

    50-50 vs Raiders

They'll be favored vs Cle and Indy (though it's not a gimme considering how they've sputtered)

Injuries have certainly ruined our chances of reaching our true team potential, but I can't say we're done yet. As long as we get healthier and not more injured over the remainder of the season, we should be able to make a little run. We have a really good team when everyone is healthy, we just gotta find a way to get to that point

As long as we don't suffer anymore injuries I think we get better each game with Ben back. I still think we get to 10-6 this season. or I hope we get to 10-6 Lol.
