OK, here's how I perceived it. If you haven't seen the show yet, don't read this. You've been warned.

When I first saw it, I thought Nicholas fell on Glenn, and the Walkers were eating his entrails while Glenn helplessly watched. As it went on though, I thought Glenn was getting munched on, too. I mean, how couldn't he get eaten? He's covered by a swarm of walkers in a feeding frenzy. After thinking about it, and the fact that he wasn't on Talking Dead when all dead cast members are, I think he somehow got out. I'm not sure how...maybe slides under the dumpster...but, I think he somehow makes it out.

I don't believe it. Your intestines aren't in your chest, and Glenn doesn't weigh 350 lb.s. That was Nick's body on top of him.

Deus Ex Dumpster... and gun fire from the Wolves vs. Rick drawing the herd away. I'm calling it.

(I have other reasons for thinking that, but I'll keep those to myself)

Edited to add: GMTA, TTF. We typed it at the same time. LOL

I so, so hope you're right! Plus, they didn't have him on Talking Dead as a guest or show him in the In Memoriams. I have hope!

So much carnage this episode. :(

Well heres a counter thought, you only appear on the Talking Dead when you have no more part to play on the show. What if Glenn shows up as a Walker

They already did that with Sophia though so not sure theyd go that route again.

Just an FYI, the show's executive, Scott M. Gimple had a message for fans on The Talking Dead.

In not so many words, he said that they deliberately didn't have anyone from the show appear on the Talking Dead because they didn't want fans reading into anything by the appearance, anything they said or didn't say.

But he did say that Glenn's story isn't over. You'll see him again in some form, whether flashback or something else (lol, or "parts of him."). So this scene will make sense or have context in the future.

Yeah, but I'm trying to forget that I heard that because the "parts of him" part sounds stupid and would probably mean he's a walker. I'm in denial here and maintaining hope even if I shouldn't. So there! :lolol:

I'm sure of 2 things in TV land.

    Jon Snow is alive.

And so is Glenn... for now.

(At least until I'm 100% proven wrong on both counts)

I might be starting to buy into it. Why not actually show him getting his guts ripped from him, the show hasnt been shy about showing people get munched on. If they wanted Glenn to be definitively dead, I dont think they would have gone about it the way they did.

If he survived that, better be a plausible explanation or it will come across as very lame. Seems to have been too many walkers around not to get him.

    Thank you @Ray D@Ray D ! :)

So much stuff happened in this episode. Rick's gonna lose his hand, isn't he?

Oh yeah, what exactly did happen to Rick's hand? I didn't catch it. Was he bitten or did he cut himself on the knife?

I dont think so. He would have needed to chop it off already. I dont think thats what they were implying when he cut his hand.

Cut himself while killing a walker.

I think he cut himself on the knife, but walker blood got into the cut.

Yeah. His blade snapped and he took a machete from the shoulder of a walker. Not sure if the broken knife or the machete cut him, but he's cut.

Walker blood getting into a cut hasn't mattered in the past. I wouldn't give that too much thought.

They talked very brief about walker blood in Rick's cut on the talkin dead but moved off the subject in a funny kinda way, something is up there I have a feeling arm or hand is gone. Man I will say this there is no shortage of action here. Very good start to the season.

FWIW, you may be correct about Rick's appendage. Fans of the comic will know what I'm talking about.

As for Glenn, he probably is gone, but I think they purposely were vague about it to make you wonder
I"m more curious to see how Rick gets out of his predicament. Does he just bail on the RV and head towards that Barn or whatever on the other side of the tree line?

I'm not but read an article that they chose not to because of production cost and difficulty of filming. It did say they may have changed their mind.

I dont think so though, any time someone has been bit, the appendage is immediately cut off. Rick has had his hand too long now. And as Ray said, blood has never been an issue before.

Whenever an important character was killed off, there was at least someone there to witness the event. If Glen in fact died, it would start a new story arc where the crew would do a search a rescue to no end. So I think we take solace in that fact. I believe he's alive!

That`s what I`m thinking... They DO have a way of mis-leading the audience, and coming up with a believable way of spinning what they wanted you to think, into, what actually happened...

Usually, it`s in their "previews", but, I also remember thinking Rick was dead, and about to turn into a zombie, when Carl saw him on the couch, during an episode, but he was just hurt pretty bad, after a fight...

Anyhow... I know I`m a bad person, but I was kinda thinking it had been a while since they actually killed off a "main character"...

I like Glenn, and it would be a shame if he is gone, but, that is one of the things I love about this show...

The "good guys" don`t always survive, and just because the audience grows attached to them, it doesn`t guarantee their safety...

I kinda hope they don`t "back out" on his death, and we have to deal with his loss, and see how it affects Maggie, and the rest of the group...
This show IS about pain, and loss, after all...

RIP, Glenn... Don`t let this turn into a typical, "everything will be o.k., magical Hollywood ending, kind of show"!!!:hmm:

I'm not quite sure what to think about Glenn. My first thought was kind of the same as has been mentioned, that it was Nicholas body on top of him. The scene seemed to be specifically framed in a way to make it look like Glenn was being torn apart but from an angle that could have hidden something. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The more I think about it, the more I think it could be another gotcha moment, which is kind of a shame. The show is still one of my favorites, but there have been more moments over the past couple of seasons that I thought seemed more for effect than just capturing the hectic, helter skelter of actions and decisions made during an everyday struggle to stay alive.

I think character development can be done just as well on the fly during the course of many simultaneous events playing out over time; the series seemed to slow it up a bit to focus on the interpersonal dynamics around the latter portion of season 3 or so, and some of the scenes seem contrived or forced - most recently I'm thinking of scenes like Maggie giving a speech to Alexandria's leader about planting seeds and showing the camp 'she's still there', Maggie then having to explain to Tara the dynamic between Glen and Nicholas, and how it made Glen such a great guy; Michone having to explain how truly hard Rick has had it and what he's seen to the one Alexandria memeber in justifying Rick's 'cold' demeanor, etc.

I think as an audience we should be left to draw our own conclusions on the morality and background behiind the actions of certain characters; taking extra time and dialouge to state too many explicitly not only dumbs it down, but risks breaking the illusion - real life, unfortunately, doesn't have as many asides and heart-to-hearts in timely manners. Dust takes awhile to settle. Part of the fun of the early seasons, for me, was wondering just what was in the minds of some, and how some situations were going to play out, if they even played out at all.

I don't have anyting against Glen, so it's not like I'm rooting for him to have been offed. But as has been mentioned, if he escaped they're going to have to have a pretty good explanantion else it's going to feel pretty contrived.

Not happy with it. One of the true survivors and the way he used to scale fences and alleys in season one? This episode seemed to want to show couples getting broken apart for some reason.
