I agree, I liked both. Loved the Star Trek TV series and most of the movies with the original cast, I never got into the spin offs. And I love the Star Wars movies, never got into the animation stuff, just the movies 1-6.

I don't like that they messed with the timeline of the originals but the Abraham movies are good movies. Its the only way they could reboot it, otherwise you know no one ever dies, pretty anti climatic. So I understand why, but it does tarnish it for the original fans.

I'll embed it. Pretty impressive. My inner 12 year old is jumping up and down.

One little nit to pick: Did they HAVE to show the black guy right as they say "the dark side?":lolol:

I loved seeing R2. JJ Abrams has said that Kylo is not the villain and I'm really wondering if there hasn't been a movement by the empire to sorta make it out, through revisionist history, that the Rebels were actually bad? Maybe the new generation is sorta coming around to realizing the Rebels were actually the good guys and that's maybe why when they ask Han the question and he says "the stories are true. all of them." Regardless I can't wait to see more. I can't believe how close it is. I mean Christmas is literally only a little over 2 months away!

Seems like there was an article on IGN about it a few months ago. My buddy is a DIE HARD Star Wars fan and also an Abrams fan and last night he texted me and was saying that Abrams has said that too and he was trying to figure out why Kylo would have been talking to that head and that's when I said that maybe Kylo was deceived by like Empire propaganda or something and that's why he felt that way. Which would then make him not necessarily the "villain" since he was just under the wrong impression or something. I didn't question what he said because if I was a betting man I'd bet the house that I read the same article as him and I thought that's where he was getting it. I will ask him about it tonight when we play Gears and let you know.

When you say he's not the villain are you saying he's not a villain? It's pretty safe to assume he's a villain.

He said he isn't "the" villain apparently. I thought he was the villain too. I mean he was fighting with a red light saber. I don't see how Abrams can say that ya know?

The visuals alone were more than I have hoped for, the gritty feeling that I think was lacking in the prequels is there now with Abrams. I was hoping for that Battlestar feel to it and I think there will be that vibe.

I was pretty pumped after watching this the other day. I loved everything about the trailer and can't wait for December 18th.

I'll be there with my two oldest kids. The look on my son's face when I showed him the original trilogy and Vader gives the big reveal was great.

Loved the trailer and by the looks of it, less CGI. nice! Really hope this move will erase the bad design of the prequels especially ep. 1. Now that I think of it, I'm going to watch them all again this week. I'll watch them in Machette Order though. That seems to be the best way.

Good grief you aint kiddin'! I just hope the new films can be as good as The Clone Wars. That is a high bar but if they achieve that they will be awesome.

JJ went with celluloid film and not digital and from what I understand he did less green screen and actually had the sets constructed. Some of the behind the scenes stuff was interesting to see as well. They had the Falcon cockpit on gimbals and reacting like an actual flight simulator as well as having some of the actors on moving simulators as well. They talked about taking an old school approach when they were filming.

While that one may be the best of the prequels, it's akin to saying chicken pox is the best of poxes.

I think he was referring to the series on Cartoon Network.

Yep I was talking about the show. It was awesome. Probably my second favorite way to enjoy Star Wars after Empire. I really love it.

You know I hold a special regard for Hines Ward but if he posts a picture of He and his Wife getting into a early screening of episode 7 I may just have to pull a Tanya Harding. It's just not fair I tell you.

Did you hear about that guy that is dying and is trying to get them to let him see an early screening? Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are trying to help him. I think it would be awesome if they let him see it first as a dying wish.
