What's funny is that it was a soft tissue injury that got him, not a hit. But yeah, Vicks style also makes him more susceptible to those types of injuries.

I was actually wondering if he pulled himself from the game, faked an injury. Wonder if the thought that, he just cant do this anymore ran through his head.

Well, that would surprise me with his ego, but who knows? I'm just glad Landry was up to the task. Best he's looked since he wore red.

I'd never thought in a million years Landry would look as good as he did. I'm glad to eat my crow. But that said he looked much better this past pre-season as oppose to prior pre-seasons.

    Way to go Landry!

You can tell when Vick ran out of bounds he looked like he injured himself.

Probably not but I dont mean completely faking it. Just wonder if he was still in his prime would he not have tried to go back out there.

He played his role. Next man up.The standard is the standard and he took full advantage of the opportunity. Thank you Landry for being battle ready when your name was called

Maybe the coaches saw that as an opportunity to pull him and allow him to save a little face.

It's a pity people can bag a player before he has been given a chance.
It's also a pity Tomlin and Co. don't tend to give certain players a chance.
It did look like, unless something major happened he wouldn't get that chance.
That's why when I saw Landry Jones being interviewed after the game I laughed at his comment.
Didn't hear what was said before this comment but felt it may have been a swipe.
His comment was " I was just amazed to be out on the field. "

What's really funny is that Deion Sanders talked about his shirt in the presser and said "That's from the Phillip Rivers Collection". LOL!!!

I've never said anything good about him, so he earned my respect today. Now, let's hold off on "Bens replacement" or "the next Brady" as I hope I/we don't see him again this year, or the next 3!

    Vick just doesn't have "it."

I am absolutely thrilled for Mr. Moustache! It was a joy watching him play today with our starters instead of a bunch of scrubs. It makes for a great story for him, and I was grinning from ear to ear knowing how much that experience in his own house must have meant to him.

With that being said, I don't know how I feel about his moustache now. It's so damn cheesy, and I can't stop laughing. And don't even get me started on the flannel shirt. :lolol:

Read in a post-game snippet where Bell said Jones made them all feel suddenly confident. I believe his quote was "He was in there making checks and all, and we were all like - Dang, Landry really got this!"

I agree, Landry had moments he looked good, but was inconsistent in pre-season. However, as you said he wasn't playing with first or second string. He was playing with the guys that aren't even there anymore.

Did you see the shirt? For a man making 500K/ a year it was putrid.

Looking at how Vick was on the sideline, I tend to think that if LJ had gone in and thrown 4 INTs in a row, Vick would have been back in, a little less mobile. Hopefully we've put a rest to Vick seeing the field again though.

But if Vick really is injured, then the question is - do they sign another QB now?

Time for me to eat crow.....great game Landry. There are a few players that I just flat out think stink and often wonder why they have a roster spot, Landry was one of them and man how wrong I am! Yesterday I found out why I sit in front of the tv and watch the steelers and then come here and talk about then while our front office does what it does. Great game Jones, for some reason while Vick was in there it felt like we were holding back a lot of things, but when Landry came in it felt like it was wide open again. Well now this is a great shot in the arm cause maybe we don't have to rush Ben back as fast as he wants and heals 100%. Either way I think Landry deserved some props..........
