Hines Ward had his best statistical season catching passes from Maddox.

Wallace had his highest receptions total in Miami. Averaged 70 catches 900 yards and 7 TDs in 2 seasons. Not bad in a poor offense.

Emmanuel Sanders had 100 catches for 1400 yards and 10 TDs last year.

Nate Washington had 74 rec 1023 yds 7 TD in one season with the Titans.

ARE played about the same but his best seasons statistically were as a Redskin.

Santonio Holmes catching passes from Mark Sanchez is pretty much the only example you have of a WR underperforming when leaving the Steelers. Cotchery's best season was as a Jet.

Admittedly it doesn't look as bad in context. ;)

It goes back to my earlier point. These guys left because we didn't pay to keep them - which is fine, on the whole, by me. We need to be a receiver factory because we keep losing them. It's a similar situation to the 90s, except we're actually getting better receivers now - which ties in to the other points about drafting and coaching.

I love AB, I think he is the best football player on the team.
He will want all the touches/targets he can receive.
(One reason why Dri Archer) was a mistake. That being said
he will want Julio Jones money, and will not be happy until he gets it.
You see the Steelers kicked in this year for a merit increase didn't ya?
LOL he wants cash money homey!!!!!!

Come on man !!! What's wrong with what AB said?? He's telling it like it is. The play calling was pathetic against the Chargers. Face it, we got lucky to win that game. There needs to be more downfield passing to loosen up the run game. Chargers were stacking the line most of the game b c they knew we wouldn't throw it downfield. If we play this way against AZ, we'll get our asses handed to us. It will be ugly. We can play with AZ but need better play calling for sure.

It's interesting that people want Brown to be involved more when at the same time they want Bell to be the offense until Ben is back. You really can't have a 150 yard WR when your offense is based off the running game. A lot of Vicks passes are designed screens or dumpoffs to Bell, so we would be taking the ball away from Bell to throw it to Brown. Is that what we want? Is that what Brown wants?

One last thing. I love Brown and he is definitely one of the top if not the top WR in the game. I really don't have that big of a deal with his comments, but it is kind of ironic that he is calling for the ball more after they won a game where he wasn't a reason why they won (Wheaton/Bell made the big plays). But they won. Why is he complaining? They were able to beat a good team by using other guys on the team. It is a TEAM...and they WON.

Perhaps Brown should be practicing catching deep passes from Vick so that he won't drop another TD like he did against the Ravens, instead of rambling about how they should throw to him more, after they just WON a football game.

The only problem I had was with the guy who wrote the article. He's in the same league with Mark Madden when he kept trying to berate Hines Ward.

Otherwise all I read from Brown was I want to do my job. I like Ben. Vick is doing his job.

Ironically, I saw that Sammy Watkins came out with a rather ballsy statement too. Funny thing about him is he's missed time being injured.

Very lucky to escape that game with a win. Get a playmaker like Brown involved, maybe they aren't relying on a time expiring all or nothing play.

yeah I read that on Yahoo, and it was much worse than what AB said. Watkins sounded like a punk: "I don't care if he's open, if I have single coverage throw it to me".

Well they did involve him against the Ravens and he dropped what would have been a GW TD, so there is that......;)

If AB is double covered then Vick shouldn't be throwing him the ball, Vick doesn't have the rapport with AB like Ben does to make those plays. Also Vick isn't accurate enough so he needs to throw it to who is open. I'm sure the coaches have told Vick not to be turning the ball over, so throwing into double coverage is a bad idea.

I watched the All 22 and I don't think AB was ever double covered. Maybe one time. He was mugged or covered like a blanket by Varrett, which resulted in a couple incompletions at the end of the 1st quarter. Almost the entire 2nd quarter were runs aside from a few plays that mostly didn't end well. The 3rd quarter was pretty much the same. Obviously the 4th quarter was different.

Anyway, double coverage had little to do with it. The coaches probably didn't say much to him about that. They probably said, 'try to look involved in the Wildcat' or 'when you don't hand it off to Bell, make sure to look to him for the check down...'. :)

Yeah but we've now established that it's impossible for a guy who normally catches td's from a right handed qb to catch one from a left handed qb. LOL. So THERE!

I meant the Ravens game also I thought they were using double coverage on AB, in the Chargers game Verett did have good coverage on AB. He can't expect Vick to force the ball to him if he's not open just because he wants his touches.
