I mentioned this in the game thread - Vick just looks awkward. It is almost like his footwork is right handed but he throws left handed. I have thought this about him his whole career. He always seems a little twisted when he throws, and this contributes to his lack of consistent accuracy.

But it was a beautiful ball to Brown in the endzone. I still think catching a lefty spin ball is different enough that our receivers struggled a bit. Can jugs machines be set to throw lefty spin balls? Our guys need to practice that.

He played a good game considering everything. Hell Brown doesn't drop that perfect pass in the end zone and we win. He had three days to prepare.

He's horrible. I would expect that kind of play out of a rookie QB with no understanding of the offense. Vick is a veteran who can't complete a simple 5 yard pass to a wide open WR. He's horrible. I'm not saying this becuase I'm emotional about one of the more embarrassing losses in Tomlin's long list of embarrassing losses. I'm saying it because he's terrible.

Tomlin has no choice but to cut Scoobie. Tomlin should also cut him self but he cant...so were stuck with a very poor game manager. I can't see us winning more then 1 of the next 5 games. I think that's realistic.

He is a running QB that throws long. We did not gameplan to his strengths. We did have him running a bit at the end of the first half and we put up 10 points quickly.

We should not have had him trying to run the cute dink and dunk offense that Ben runs. It takes an Elite level QB to run that and make the accurate throws. Vick isn't one. But he CAN be very effective if we let him run and throw more down the field.

Brown is a veteran who should be able to catch a simple touchdown pass, right?

I think your user name is defining.

The only thing Vick did tonite that surprised me was he didnt trn the ball over, other than that i thought he played abt what i expected Blaaahh, he coudnt make the throws when he needed to, and i think he locked on to his first read, and if it wasnt there he wanted to run...

If we make any of those FG's we win. If we punt instead of going for it... if we attempt a GF at the end instead of going for it. If vick hits a wide open Brown on a 4 yard pass we win. I think there is a pile of If's on the field tonight that would have won the game for us. That was an embarrassing performance from our coaching staff and our kicker. That dropped pass was really the least of it for me.

Brown cost us more points than the kicker. Just saying.

Oh yeah I'm not blaming Brown for the loss by any means I completely blame Scobee for that. I'm just saying Vick played well considering the circumstances.

Tomlin cost us the game. He got too comfortable with Vick throwing when Bell was having a good game. The second half it seemed like all they wanted to do was throw the ball.

Brown also helped get us down the field on his punt return, so Tomlin could decide to put the game in Vicks HANDS...

Likely wouldn't have mattered if he caught the TD.

No excuse for losing that game. None. None. None. I have gone on record saying I don't think Vick is that good of a QB. He has always been overrated as far as I am concerned. And now he is worse than he has ever been because he doesn't have the wheels he used to. At least he didn't fumble the ball which is one of his worst problems. Not sure we can win any of the games that Ben is out if he plays like he did tonight. He is not a crunch time QB and that is a problem in the NFL.

Yes Brown should have caught that pass...but lets not act like that was an easy pass.. He was on the ground trying to catch a laser from a left handed QB that he's never caught before.
You wanna put the game on that dropped ball and ignore the multiple mistakes and missed opportunities form Vick, Tomlin, and the kicker? what ever dude. You're clueless. That missed pass by Vick was more of a gimmie then Brown's dropped ball. Vick missed a wide open Brown on a 5 yard pass that would have clinched the game. Then our coach opts to not attempt a game winning FG. How many QB's have been held to 150 yards passing this season? How many QB's have the talent Vick as around him? That was a pathetic effort from a veteran QB. If he was a rookie I could let it slide but that was awful. He was as bad as our kicker and our coach. And you wanna blame the best WR in the league for one drop? Ok yea it was all Browns fault.

Vick has always relied on physical talent but he can't read defenses and he stares down the same WR for the whole play.

I'm not going to say he did every play, but on a good bit of plays I watched him he moved through his progressions quite well.

Yeah, that is true. I always watch QB's helmets to see where they are looking in their progressions. Vick goes through one or two on a play even on those plays that drag out and he buys time.

Vick has a career passer rating of 80. He has only had two seasons with 20 touchdowns. So yeah, he is probably overrated. Still... not a bad option for a backup QB. He has a lot of experience and his career record is 59-51. Pretty good.

I expect more low-risk offense with Vick. It almost worked last night.

Ding! Vick cannot go through his progressions. Heath? Wheaton? Were in trouble with him behind center. But Tomlin wants to be right. I'm disgusted with Tomlin today and I've been a supporter. That POS kicker best have his locker cleaned out and his replacement brought in. Ben can't come back soon enough...

    They did that.
There was an interview with Haley where he talks about all the adjustments they had to make to accommodate a left-handed passer.

Vick isn't gonna give us many full field drives per game, need to create a two headed monster of DeAngelo and Leveon, this is our strongest option.

This is not true btw. We gave the Raven's great field position after each of those missed FG's. Instead of the Raven's taking the ball at the 20 after a kickoff..they got the ball at midfield. So it's much more than just not getting 3 points. It's field position... it's forcing the opponent to drive the field, and it' gives the defense a much better chance of succeeding. We force them to punt and suddenly it's us with the ball at mid-field and another 3 points on the score board. People must not have played the game of football to have such a simpleton point of view.

I believe we were 2-13 on 3rd downs. That land's soley on the qb. Vick was horrible and if he's not dramatically better this week we will lose again.

Was a limited and terrible game plan . Coach Haley all but said that on a NFL.COM article. Haley was scared to call the kind of plays that Vick does well and that's what you have to call in crucial situations.

I wont get into the Rep part for the BU , but I am certain that's the main reason we lost that game .
