There is a lot of focus on Vick and whether or not he can help sustain the offense while Ben is out. But...we are forgetting exactly how injury prone Vick has been throughout the course of his career, especially the last few seasons with the Eagles and Jets.

Get ready for it. Landry Jones will be the starting QB for the Steelers within the next two to three weeks.

So, I guess the question then is, if/when Vick gets injured, who backs up Jones?

We'd have to sign somebody off the street or make a trade. Kyle Orton retired but there was some talk the Cowboys may make a run at him after Romo went down last week. I like Orton and wonder if he could be coaxed out of retirement. I doubt it but he may be a candidate. Matt Flynn and Josh Johnson were two other quarterbacks mentioned. So basically no one is available, lol.

I don't like Vick at all,but I like the Steelers. So I don't want to see him get hurt if it's going to hurt our chances at W's

That's my sentiments exactly. I don't wanna see the Steelers lose. Ever. WhatEVER guy gives us the best chance to win is the guy I want on the field. I understand people not liking Vick and all that but there are 52 other guys I wanna see do good. Well maybe 50 barring Cam Thomas and Mike Mitchell. LOL.

if vick wins 50% of the games he is in I will be surprised ,,, I have no confidence at all in him I think we would be better off with Jones

This. I don't care if Vick breaks his neck and lives the rest of his life on a breathing machine. That's pretty much what I think of him, but I want him to have all the success in the world as long as he's our starting QB

I WILL root for the other 52...

But, I can`t bring myself to root for a guy that helped kill dogs for money...

    I have pretty loose morals...

I usually don`t give a crap what a player does in their off-time...

But, what he did wasn`t a "mistake", or a "one time thing"...

It was flat out EVIL... I thought Preachers fought against EVIL!!!!???

Or, at least, spoke out AGAINST it????

I`m trying to stop short of calling you a hypocrite, because, I never thought you were one...

But, when you say "who EVER" can lead us to a win, you will support, I gotta question your integrity.

You really don`t care what he had a hand in doing to those dogs, as long as he can help us win???

That don`t sound like the BFT, I`ve read on this board, for years...:hmm:

I`ve just gotta figure out how to support my team, when we picked a guy who shouldn`t be on it!!!

    GO STEELERS!!!

I'm totally against what he done. No doubt about it. I'm not rooting for "him" but the Steelers. Trust me if I spoke about the things that I consider evil I wouldn't be around here for long. LOL. Here soon I MIGHT be preaching on the internet and I will let you know if I do so you can judge for yourself. It's just that TTF said today in the game thread that if people were like "flaming" over Vick and all that that he was gonna ban them so I just want to honor that request and keep it strictly from a "football" perspective. I just want us to win and from a "football" perspective he PROBABLY gives us the best shot to do so. If they go and get a new qb tomorrow I'm not gonna care one bit.

    Fair enuff, Preacherman...

I wouldn`t usually call you out like that, personally, I just have a serious problem with Vick being on our team...

I kinda assumed you would have the same veiwpoint, on that...

If ya don`, ya don`t... It`s all good...

And I understand you following the rules of the board,

I just don`t want him on our team.

    I STILL don`t...

But, everyone`s entitled to their opinions...

    Peace... GO STEELERS!!!

No problem my friend. I totally understand how visceral of a response he generates from people.

I implied this when he was signed. Durability has to be a concern with Vick. It wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if Landry Jones gets his first NFL start in the next month or so. Could you imagine? Vick, then Landry under center in the same season...by that point, plagues of locusts wouldn't surprise me either.

I think Vick is a despicable human being. However, from a football perspective I think he gives us a better chance to win than Jones or anyone else out there. Those asking for Orton - I'm pretty sure the Bills hold his rights, and he cannot just come out of retirement to go to another team without them agreeing to release him. Therefore, I will be rooting for us to have success with Vick at QB (not to be confused with rooting for Vick).

Come on Bleed. I think we're starting down a slippery slope here. Are you going to call everybody out who roots for Vick to have success so the Steelers can have success? I think all of us are repulsed by what Vick did. I'm also repulsed by what big, bad James Harrison did when he knocked the crap out of his girlfriend a few years ago and by what Ben did to the college girl in Georgia and the hotel employee in Nevada. But I believe it's possible for people to have remorse for what they've done and to find redemption. I'm pretty sure BFT believes that too since he's a messenger of redemption. I think we all need to take TTF's advice and get back to football discussion and stop with the judge, jury and executioner stuff. JMHOWADR.
