Williams should have gotten more snaps he has the hot hand and bell should've been eased in over the next week or two in order to get in football shape... That's what smart teams with smart coaches do. So just like last year, we have 2 backs that can do damage and we only utilize one... The one who's been gone for two weeks for being a dummy. Bell is again, superior... But he isn't conditioned yet. Need to ease him in and not make Williams an all of a sudden forgotten man. And for crying out loud, can we get a dual back set going EVER?!?!?!?!?!?!?

The package alone adds another 10-15 wtf moments to a defense!

He's not overrated. He still has phenomenal vision and he still pass protects. He still is great out of the backfield. He also scored a touchdown today.

They ran that dual back set a few times today. I believe each time they motioned Bell out to WR each time though. which is a great idea to get him matched up on a LB.

So basically your entire reasoning is that you are tired of hearing about how good Bell is and you don't think he's all that great. Check. I think 99.99999% of Steeler fans will disagree as well as 99.999999% of experts. Considering NFL Network put him in right around the 10th best player in the league last year.....at ANY position. It makes more sense to me now after you said that....it's basically a personal dislike as opposed to anything he has done on the field. Strange....I've never heard a Steeler fan say they were tired of hearing about how great a Steeler player is by the media. That's a definite first.

I agree... When he's ready. And in a week or two he'll be up to snuff. Williams is pretty good in that role too. I'm not anti Bell, he's our best weapon behind Brown. But sometimes you got to ride the chemistry you have (even 2 games in) and ease in the hero who's been gone!

Yeah against a weaker front that would stretch the field razor thin. So lame that Ben got hurt. We were so close to getting all our weapons back.

Williams just didn't match up as well against that line. They weren't giving up jack today. Bell actually looked as awesome as ever to me. He was catching balls and hurdling and still reading his holes phenomenally well. When he scored that td it was setup by a phenomenal cut that he made for the first down in the red zone. He just stops and starts on a dime and is extremely patient. Williams seems to need a hole from the start as opposed to Bell that can wait on one. Don't get me wrong, though. I love the Williams pick up and can't wait to see them both against a weaker front.

Hopefully we get some good news with Ben. If not we'll have to deal with it. When Ben went down I looked over at my wife and she looked pissed. I said are you ok and she just looked at me and said Vick.

We just couldn't establish enough of a run today for it to really matter. The short passing game was what had them on the ropes and then we go away from that and the rest, and maybe even the season, is history as they say.

I'd like to see it more so in a run format... The pass set up (sending bell out wide) is butter on the bread but we gotta keep em guessing

Yeah my wife is at the beach with her mom and the kids and I sent her a message and told her Ben was hurt and I was ready to puke and she called and my little 2 year old said "Daddy are you upset?" because my wife had told her she needed to call and cheer me up. LOL.

Ben is beastly in play action. Did you notice today when Vick tried a PA pass? Not so much. LOL. He literally ran the fake to the opposite side of where Bell was.

I hear ya, but Williams tends to have a bit of success bouncing it out while being patient... Saw a few holes collapse quock where I think he would've bounced out. It's all speculation brother. We got two good horses n the stable just don't want one to be forgotten when he should be depended on time to time.

Yeah... Give him time... Hope it pans out, but when Vick came in our O line had resorted to getting man handled and thus there was no run threat

I think they will definitely use them both. We basically have an embarrassment of riches on offense and that's probably making it a little more challenging to get him the ball too. A lot of mouths to feed.

Look, I love Bell and what he brings to the team but I'm not buying into all of the off season hype just yet. Every so called expert out there made predictions that are almost unattainable. It is only my opinion that he may be overrated going into this season by those predictions. I would love for him to lead the league in rushing at the end of the season but I have a hard time believing that when he is already 2 games behind. Hope I'm dead wrong and he has over 2,000 yards at the end of the season.

Yeah the rats front won't be nearly as problematic I hope. Dalton smoked them today. A.J. Greene feasted on their corners too. I really think Ben would have tossed 6 more on them. Ticks me off so dang bad.

Hahahaha same here. My buddies would prefer we get dirty laundry the touches since he should be more accustomed to the book. I digress... If we have to lean on Vick so be it, but he'll get broken soon as well.

He doesn't have to do anything other than what he did last year. He already went for over 2,000 total yards. It's not unrealistic expectations to do what he has already done is it? Obviously he is 2 games down this year but if he averages what he did last year in the rest of the games this season, he'll still be great and viewed as one of the best.

He can't help the expectations of others though. He has earned those high expectations really. I don't know that I look for him to have 2,000yds but I do look for him to be our best option coming out of the backfield. The best since the Bus actually. By far.

Whether or not he hits any of those milestones are irrelevant. He's the best RB on this team. And it ain't even close. If he need a breather for a series or two a game, fine. If the want to run a dual RB threat, that's fine, but no way you take him off the field just to give Williams the ball.
