Tomlin has no intentions of easing Bell back into the line up.

He said if he is available then he is our guy. I think this is the right decision as he is the best back in the business. I'm sure Williams will get some carries and spell Bell but I don't think he will see more then 10 maybe 15 snaps a game. I could see them using a fresh Williams more in the fourth when the defense is tired of chasing Bell all around the field. You don't split carries when you have a guy of Bells caliber back there. I remember in training camp the beat writers writing about Bell running the entire route tree and with his size and speed that is deadly. This offense is going to be great.

Yeah it's not like he missed half the season or anything. Still pretty close to training camp and knowing Bell, he's kept in tremendous shape. He'll add a new dimension to our offense that DeAngelo couldn't provide - a true weapon in the underneath passing game.

I was a little surprised it was asked in the presser. Putting Bell in full-steam from the get go is a no brainer.

Yup. Knowing we have Deangelo to back him up eases a lot of worries about injury too

I'm fine with this approach but if that means turning D Williams into no role on the field with involvement whatsoever then that is a terrible approach. He has proved that he can be used in a very positive manner. Time will tell though.

I'm still saying he missed the first 2 games, and WILL be the NFL Leading rusher this year. (as long as williams doesnt play a bigger role than we all think?) !!!!!

I agree I think he is absolutely going to go off this weekend. When you have a competitor like him that has to sit and watch while not injured he is going to be going hard.

I'm guessing DeAngelo will be in for one series to every three or four for Bell. Still think a 20-25% workload would be too high considering we'd have Bell in there.

Just as long as Tomlin didn't say anything about running anyone's wheels off. That didn't turn out great last time we went to St Louis.

One thing we could do is line up Bell out wide and have Williams as the tail back. That will really keep the defence guessing. Bell is probably our 2nd best receiver, he is scary good

Yeah, there are really so many options with the two of them on the field.

We didn't do it last year with Blount here so I'm not holding my breath, but I would love to see both backs in at times

I'd imagine that Williams will be used the same amount as Blount was (before he fell out of favor) however much that was.

He should be good for 25-30 touches per game

I love FWP! He was the leading rusher in the league when he broke his leg I think. Terrible.

I expected Tomlin to go fully with Bell. He has his favorites.

That is about where I'm at. That would leave like 10 touches for Williams.

Yeah, I'm surprised that this was even published. I just assumed this would be the case from the start and it never occurred to me that Bell wouldn't go full steam ahead as soon as his suspension was over.

I don't think anyone expected Deangelo to be the 2nd leading rusher in the NFL.

Bell is the Steelers feature back for the foreseeable future so it would be wise to keep him healthy down the stretch. He got 373 touches last season. Makes sense people would askif the Steelers would make more of an effort to keep Bell healthy.

Remember when Ben was hobbling around with some sort of cast on against the Niners a few years ago? Playoffs were already locked up. Steelers still ran a sneak with him I remember haha. 49ers had the game the whole way but Ben stayed in the whole time. Got Tebowed in the playoffs... worth it. Haha.

Rookie year Bell took that vicious hit in the end zone by two players and got knocked unconscious... played the next game. He couldn't remember the hit i.e. concussion.

Tomlin does not sit his injured stars. Tomlin does not sit his stars after disciplinary issues. The stars play no matter what. It is what it is.

Pretty impressive what the offense has done without Bell, Pouncey and Bryant. Kudos to Ben and Haley.

The Rams have a very good front 7 we will need to use Bell a lot both in the running game and in the passing game . I expect him to have a huge week . This is a statement game ,we need to finish drives , go for 2 , score the ball a bunch show the rest of the NFL this Offense is no joke .......
