There are numerous reports that the Steelers put him in a treatment facility and the whole working out on his own was just a cover. At least they are trying to get the kid help and this makes a lot more sense then them giving him the go a head to work out away from the teams watchful eye. Hopefully this straightens the kid out since it was reported he failed 4 tests. I'm sorry but I burned for a very long time but there is no way in hell I would risk millions of dollars over some weed. Put it down for 10 years retire and then you can walk around with a cloud of smoking following you if you want but not until then.

Yeah I think it was all the way around a classy move by the Steelers. First to get him help before it got to 10 games and then to not throw it out there that he was in rehab. The team still hasn't confirmed that is where he is all Tomlin would say is he isn't here.

Either Bouchette is making a big leap, or someone in the org. fed him that. He might be the only reporter who doesn't use the word "source".

Yeah, I was looking for a thread about him where I could post my "read between the lines", comment...

    Had this saved...

    http://triblive.com/sports/steelers/9137629-74/bryant-team-suspended#axzz3mQ2zis1e

    Got beat to it...

But, I agree, My take on Tomlin`s quote, when he said "we are taking the appropriate steps, at this time, and that is all I am going to say about that", is...

"The young man is in trouble."...

"We will give him a chance to straighten his sh*t out"...

"If he doesn`t.... Next Man Up!!!"...

"We have enough talent to win without him"...

"We will not tolerate a "Josh Gordon-type", on our team"...

Personally, I am still shocked that none of us as fans(that I know of), saw any warning signs of this coming...

I HOPE he gets his stuff together, but I wouldn`t be surprised, if he didn`t...

Dude, get high, when you retire, a rich man...

You could earn a couple SuperBowl Rings, before that, if you pull yer crap together!!!

    GO STEELERS!!!:yeehaw:

Seems like more often than not these guys never change their ways.. Hopefully he's the exception. He should talk to Tyrann Mathieu for some guidance.

The guy he is working with worked with Mathieu so hopefully it's the same result.

It's awesome to see just how much of a leader Ben has become. He said he is in contact with Bryant everyday.

Good for MB and the team.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with recreational use of marijuana (not my thing, but that's my choice). But if you fail 4 tests when you know it's against the terms of your employment, you're either incredibly stupid, or you have a problem. I don't think he's stupid. I don't know what his problem/issue might be. Could be as simple as being easily led by his crowd of friends. Or could be something deeper that if it wasn't marijuana, it'd be something else. Either way, he has to identify what's causing his reckless behavior and find a way to correct it. This is a good step along that journey.

I eagerly await his return to the field, but I'll cheer for his getting his life on track even more.

What strikes me as odd is this- Bryant, when he first got his suspension, was still around, and was suddenly banned from the teams campus. While part of his suspension, I am not sure if this was NFL mandated, or FO imposed? Secondly, he enters a treatment facility two weeks into his suspension? Why not go on day one? To me, and maybe it's the cop in me, BUT, for some reason, I think he got busted again? I believe the FO found out he's still smoking, and can't quit, so they sent him off to rehab as a last ditch effort to save him. I'm not sure of all the testing guidelines he will face in the future, but Josh Gordon was getting tested often, and MB will be in the same boat. Seems like I read that the NFL doesn't test after the season begins, or much at all, but I'm betting he will see a plastic cup every ten days.

If he got busted again he would be suspended for ten games and he was never banned from the facility. I think he has been in the treatment center since the regular season started. That is when the story of him "working out on his own" came out. Once you are in the drug abuse program of the NFL you get tested regularly. Also by the reports I read the treatment center was his decision.

According to Bouchette and Labriola, it was the team's doing. Either way, though.

I'm pretty sure that he can't have anything to do with the team during the suspension once the season began. Don't quote me on that but I think that's the deal. As far as testing goes if I remember correctly Von Miller had to have two years of clean tests before he was done with regular testing and that could be however many the league wanted to give him.

Got busted again by his own team is what I meant to say. It may be the nfls policy for players to stay away during suspensions but he didn't leave town right away, so that's what makes me think something internally went down. Kid could be one of the best by next year but one more night out/in could end it all. Pulling for him
