I'd say it's pretty close to must-win as the Rams look infinitely better than San Fran and we usually split with the Ratbirds.

I guess philosophically you could argue that every game is a must win, but no, I can't call the 2nd game of the season a must win in the way that you mean.

While I hate when coaches and players say a loss early in the season doesn't matter, since it can come back later to bite you when records are close, I certainly don't think that a loss this week would spell the end of 2015 for the Steelers.

A few seasons back we had 'must win' games for about five weeks in a row, lost most of them, and still only just missed out on the play offs.

The NFL is too evenly matched at the moment to make those kind of calls. Certainly in week 2. But then, I think Real Steel already knew that.

Pats lost first two last year, then proceeded to cheat most of the next 18 weeks to win the Superbowl. So no, but I understand your sentiment. Win early and often, it won't be a must win. Lose early and often and they all become must wins.

Week 2, against an NFC team? Not a must win in my mind.

Didn't we have this conversation about a pre season game last season? Lol

    Now, this game actually counts...

No, it's not a must win in the grand scheme of things. We could lose 3-4 games and still have home field throughout the playoffs. However, I do think it's very important. All 16 games are.

Pretty important, but not a must.

A few years before that, we had 5 must wins at the end of the year and won the super bowl!

Week 1 of the playoffs is a must win, otherwise the season is a bust. (written like a Real Real Steel post).:frustrated:

Yep every week! We need to get back to it being a "five star matchup just because we are here" (Props to Deshea Townsend)!

A must win game won't mean nothing if we don't win....therefore by definition it is a must win. Now that's putting it in a Real Steel language we can all understand....:hehehe:

It's not a must-win game. I remember when we lost the first three games of the season and still had a winning season. It usually takes is a while to warm up, IMO.

While it's a rhetorical question - I think many of you folks have been hanging too much with the cool as a cucumber never break a sweat Coach T - why would we have to win games? Super Bowl 50 is in the bag for the Steelers! I agree with the OP - can't afford statistically nor psychologically to lose two in a row - it's never going to get any easier as the season progresses. The good news - we beat Green Bay in pre-season and the Pack > the Niners.

I've got better things to do with my time on this earth than to sit around for 3 hrs every week where I accomplish nothing but watching the Steelers and if they happen to lose then it was a very non productive time of my life so therefore every game is a must win in my book. Unfortunately,I have wasted too much time on this earth already.

Not a must, we can lose a few more before the gang gets back. Then we make our run.

I'm not afraid to say its a must win. Need all the wins you can with this schedule. We need to beat the beatable teams whoever is in or out of the line up. The pre season was not confidence boosting and we lost handily in the opener. Don't want to lose the home opener too. I think the team needs some positivity.
