I herd the announcers talking last night, they said Butler/ Tomlin simplified the defense, for the game, so the woudn't be any confusion , since it was a young secondary

 

simplified for our DBs and simplified for the opposing QBs. I was with a couple non-Steeler fans while watching the game and they were questioning the big cushions too. Thank you Captain Obvious.

What was really maddening was like Jim92 mentioned and the same pass plays completed one after another in succession. I am very discouraged with our DBs ability to diagnose a play.

Outcoached in every facet of the game imo.

Let me tell you I don't often entertain conspiracy theories but if they had asked the Steelers to lose the game they certainly went about it in a very obvious way, I mean the level of stupid displayed in that game reached some epic proportions. The only thing missing was a pick off run the wrong way.

I have to agree with this.. This is a personnel issue. It's like trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear lol

 

Tomlin and Butler both knew this secondary was a big problem going into the off season including the 5 pre season games, they did little about it, yeah they drafted golson, but he's on IR and probably would have been stored on the bench this year anyway, and some other late rounders, but that isnt fixing a broken secondary that needed instant talent to be competitive, they have Boykin but never used him; it is frustrating that they did nothing in free agency to fix this problem, so we are stuck with a C level back end, and every team we play in the future will be licking their chops to air it out against them, heres an article on what the front office and coaches could have done in free agency but didn't...

Blake needs to go. Not worried about our front 7.. Pretty sure NE pulled their left tackle because Jones was giving him fits. It's difficult if not next to impossible to have a pass rush when a QB throws the ball on average in less than 2 secs lol... Shazier played a good game. Our secondary is a mess and like everyone else I am perplexed why " The Boy King" is not playing. That's not a good sign for his development.
