One thing that infuriated me last night...

Why does this coaching staff (and other teams to be fair) assume that just because Will Johnson has 25 lbs on Williams that he is automatically a better goal line back? He has no explosiveness, no acceleration, no tackle breaking ability, no driving second effort. Lynch and Bettis had those qualities so they are good BIG goal line backs.

But some of the best goal line backs have been small like Priest Holmes and Marshall Faulk. They could hurdle, they were explosive, and if the line got knocked backward, they could use speed to get outside to the corner of the end zone. We are lucky Will Johnson even got in once on his three weak cracks at it.

I think Will did okay, could have been better. I think Ben needs to get us in the endzone though. As good as Ben played Brady did exactly what was needed to come away with touchdowns when he got there.

    You're correct ...

The top of that list is not populated by big RBs.

Yeah, definitely a minor gripe compared to the rest of the issues. Ben needs to run the hurry up sneak more too.

Also, I get that you go big with a goal line formation but I wish they would at least have a 1 WR formation to show some threat to catch a pass. Even as a diversion so the opponent can't just stack up. Maybe that would be the case if Bryant was in uniform.

We just have to score 20 + yards out. When I see "whatever" and goal... I immediately think "oh great a fg" lol

Glad to know I'm not the only one!

As for Brady being able to get the TD's in the RZ instead of Ben, I'd wager it's a lot easier tossing the ball up to a 6'6" giant in Gronk than it is trying to squeeze a perfect ball into the catch radius of one of our WR's not named Bryant. Take away Gronk and Brady will also struggle to a degree.

It gets tricky once they break the opposing 40 yard line, IMO.

A penalty in the red zone should get you benched for rest of game.
