Why on 3&5 in redzone we hand off to DeAngelo on a draw. We should have thrown for endzone there.

I don't know. It was terrible. I can only hope it was miscommunication.

Gameballs: Heyward-Bey had a good game in place of Bryant. Yeah he went out of bounds on that TD but had some solid catches otherwise.

    AB for being AB.

Heath for moving into second all-time Steeler receptions!!!

Bud Dupree for sharing the NFL sack lead in his first game ever! Haha.

Goats- Tomlin for having 8 years of NFL head coach experience and still not being able to manage the clock!!!

Scooby because Suisham makes at least (maybe) one of those haha.

Belichick for disabling Steelers communications because like he always says "It is really hard to steal hand signals over radio."

Not fair. Jarvis looked WAY better tonight. And Dupree showed promise even got an unblocked sack.

    On another note...

I have no clue why Shazier did not get matched up on Gronk... Isn't that the whole point of drafting him top 15??? A cover ILB to match up with today's TEs? Because if not should have got a corner and re-signed Larry Foote ffs.

Game ball goes to deangelo, my balls go to coaching and scobe.

First... horrible trick play, 2nd... very bad goal line offense, 3rd... Missed fgs following the bad coaching.

Not how you win games in a team carrying offense.

P.S if our kicker can't make field goals there, he won't make them at Heinz either.

    Gameballs:

Williams. I really wish we had him last season. hings would have turned out a lot different.

    Brown by default.

    O-line did a good job.

    GOAT:

    The entire secondary.

Refs who use 2 different rulebooks. (If it's holding on one side, it's holding for both. PI is PI, or it's not. You don't get to play favorites)

Tomlin and most of the staff. Piss poor clock management. Sending only 10 men out on defense. Team looked way too confused. Complete lack of preparation is on the coaches.

    ...................................

Giving Scobee a pass. Poor field conditions. His second attempt should never have been even called. Good coaching would have gone for it there knowing the field was sloppy.

For me, it wasn't that the secondary played poorly - I didn't expect them to match up well against this offense - it was how they played poorly. The confusion, 10 men, completely ignoring Gronk (more than once!)... that's bad coaching. Missed tackles, the occasional burned route/PI, etc I expect with this group, but also expect they at least be on the field and in position when the ball is snapped. If they aren't even capable of that, then Colbert & Co. should have been much more aggressive in getting some reinforcements in the offseason.

Was this the one just after the *tentative* false start?

They looked like they were fighting the clock on that one. Perhaps still irate with the call?

That false start was hogwash. They were good the entire game and suddenly down in at the goal line they lose it and half the line jumps? I knew it was a simulated snap count sitting at home.

If that was the Patriots, they would of called a time-out. Why didn't we? You don't let golden opportunities pass you by like that. Especially against the Patriots. It's like we just settle instead of attacking.

Total Bull-crap Bush League stuff right there!

*EDIT* That's been against the rules for a long time. *** Apparently, that's not against the rules to shift like that in unison. If there was a simulated snap count though it would be illegal. ***

They did it while jump shifting the entire line, so the call to do that sounded like a simulated snap. That's not by accident that it has the same tempo and sound.....

The refs let them get away with it though. I guarantee they'll talk about it in meetings for next week and be looking for it.

    Gameballs:

DeAngelo Williams - started him in my fantasy league and he came through

AB - Because even when its not catchable, somehow he comes down with it

OL - Did a good job - now maybe that is because the Pats D isn't that great...who knows

Pats organization - They f***ed with our headsets and got away with it. Not sure how long it takes for teams to realize that, when you go to Foxborough, expect the unexpected.

    Goats:

Scobee - I mean I have no words. Could the Patriots have gotten to him too??

Steelers secondary - or whatever the hell that was supposed to be that was on the field last night. Embarrassing.

I'd love to know what happened to Wheaton. At the beginning of last season, he was the #2 behind Brown, but by the end of season had been supplanted by Bryant. He made that beautiful catch on the sidelines, yet he missed what I thought was a couple of easier catches in the game. I'm curious why he just can't seem to get on the same page with Ben sometimes.

Game Balls: Williams, Ben, Heath, and AB (guy was double covered and still getting open)
Goats: Scobee missing two. Heyward Bey not watching his feet. Will Allen for not paying attention to where the ball was.

On one of the final drives he had a catchable ball sail through his alligator arms. Granted, it was in the middle of the field and between two defenders, but you gotta come down with that ball. Or at least touch it. We need Bryant badly. He adds a dimension to our offense that we do not have without him.

One more game without Bell, and it'll be a huge bump for us when he returns, but we won't see our true juggernaut until Bryant is back.

They clearly don't the way they were shackling him in that first half and opting to have Brown try to throw. But it looked like Ben changed the play on that 3rd and 5. I think that awful call was on him from what I could tell.

I give an F to Tomlin and Butler for this game, poor game planning and no game time adjustments, I absolutely agree Shazier should have been the cover guy for Gronk, and edleman ran all over that secondary at will, how embarrassing was that? And thanks to Haley for stalling the opening drive that was moving nicely down the field until he called a trick play with AB, execution and coaching in this game was as bad as it gets, they have 10 days to fix it for their next game or they can look forward to a terrible home opener...................

I've not read the thread to know if anybody has said this but I'm giving mine to Munch. The o line looked as well last night as they have in a very long time. I'm extremely proud of their effort. I felt like Ben had plenty of time and Williams had craters to run through. As far as the worst that obviously goes to the whole defense for me. I really don't know who to call out the most actually.

Gameballs: Williams, shazier and O line for keeping Ben clean.

Goats- coaches. Bad clock management, goal line calls, going for a fg in rain, defense wasn't ready and keeping Ben late risking our season.
