I agree totally about the BCS. It was completely biased bullcrap. It ruined me on college football actually. I feel like the NFL is the purest form of competition where all teams are on the same level playing field and it basically always comes down to the best teams based on what they do on the field instead of what some "system" says they have done. That's funny that people up there like the SEC because down here everyone thinks the rest of the country looks down on them. It is basically just that "us against the world" stuff that makes them feel better about themselves in my opinion.

It does seem like a lot of players have been drafted from Ohio State lately.

I remembered finding a site several years ago that had a lot of sortable draft info. The following link has all the Steelers drafts sorted by colleges. Really Ohio St not many more than some others.

But they have a 4 team playoff system in place now, which is better than letting them pick two teams to play for the national title, have you seen the Tides schedule this year, they have to play 8 ranked teams, if they make it through that schedule without getting totally banged up they should end up number 1, but it's hard to see them running the table with all those ranked opponents????

Not as many as I would have thought overall. But a good number for the past 10 years. Must be the recent #1s in Cam and Shazier that push that perception for me.

That guy from Steelers Depot is a idiot, but I would like to see the team do a better job of evaluating talent in the secondary. Just draft a guy and develop him, Grant isn't good enough for the practice squad?

Who says he's not? He was good enough to make the initial cut for the 53. The 24 hour waiver period doesn't expire until 4:00 pm so who knows if he'll be added to the PS.

Fans are fed up with the Steelers ineptitude of addressing the CB position, every year it's the same crap. Why not put Grant on the PS in the first place instead of those other scrubs.

You can't just put him on the practice squad, he'd have to clear waivers during the peak of waiver claims. You've sounded fed up with it for a couple years, so I can only imagine what you think of Grant's release. :lollmao:

Okay I get it now, yes I'm fed up along with Golson on IR and Grant released . At least they tried to address it with the trade for Boykin and the signing of Cockrell.

OSU has great prospects. They run our 3-4, or used to, and they would bring Lebeau in to consult in the off season.

And Lebeau graduated from OSU. I think he had a lot of say in the players that had been drafted from there.

He made the 53, then got cut to make room for an RB, while we're already carrying two FBs.

That's a difficult situation to read, or draw many conclusions from. I suspect there are several layers to the decision process here.

Grant has cleared waivers. We'll have to wait and see where he lands.

Yes. It looks like he's cleared waivers, too, and is currently at the Steelers facility.

This whole practice squad rush is like extreme zero hour contracts. Hey you! You're going to work for us now, so drop everything and move to Pittsburgh. Next day: erm, actually, don't bother...

My question is if he was that bad why draft him in the fourth-round? It wasn't anyone better to choose from?

They should've drafted Eric Rowe in the 2nd instead of that midget Golson, Rowe can play safety and CB. They were willing to trade up for Golson in the 2nd why not Rowe?
