Yes I know it's only preseason the only win we had was against Jacksonville which was the worst team in the NFL last year

 

Could you by chance just have one thread so that we can save valuable space on the server. These threads serve no purpose other than for you to spew some kind of negative rant that we all make fun of you for so maybe put in one place where we can find it, maybe TTF or Blast will make it a sticky so it is handy and dandy and then you can stand up in the middle of the quarter deck stamp your foot and we will all laugh and be impressed

My bad ok we beat Green Bay the fact that we lost 4 pre season games has 2013 season written all over it is a ****ty coach not disciplining enough otherwise we wouldn't have this problem with guy smoking pot getting suspended

Listen man I get the harsh realism I do, I also get humor and light side these threads bring. Looking at the sample side it could look like a grim year. Let's wait and see what next Thursday brings. 1-4 in the preseason means nothing... once we beat up on the Pats next week.

 

One things for certain. About around this exact time next week we'll have a much better understanding of who this team really is (thus far) for the 2015 season.
The good news, if its any consolation, is that the Pats (including their golden boi) haven't been playing to well this pre-season either. It's all 'relative'...

 

if we lose next week the banter will be " well it's only one game" which it is, but these are the games we need to win to get to where we want to be. lots of injuries right now, but i can hear it now. wait until these guys get on the field. thats fine but the next excuse will be, well the haven't practiced and were just flat. it's going to be a long first half of the season is what i'm really thinking. i hope i'm wrong. we really need to waltz into this game and throttle these jokers and set the pace.

I hear what you're saying, but I look at it this way.
If it were the Steelers that were the reigning Super Bowl champs, facing another team that was a perennial AFC contender, but one that the we had a stellar record of beating at home (see Indy, Cincy), and that team had their All Pro running back and solid, up and coming #2 WR out for the season opening game, I would fully expect us to take care of business. That's not even taking into account this Deflategate stuff, which I heard all day on ESPN as being extra fuel to their fire. I'm not expecting a win here, although it would be fantastic.
However, I do expect wins over SF, SL, and Baltimore. 3-1 after 4 with a game over our division rival in our hip pocket would be gravy. Remember, NE beat us in our house in 2005 and we did alright that year.

 

Who cares what a preseason record is, they had a losing record in the preseason last year also.

 

As I agree it's just preseason, our backups are just bad. I mean I've seen other teams backups look a lot more efficient then ours. I don't know if it's players, coaches or the way we run training camp. If I was the front office I would be sending a lot of players home and looking at the waiver wire for potential replacements.

 

Don't be surprised if they start 1-4 in the regular season. Playing Possum? Guess Shamarko Thomas was last night. Will Allen should get the start. Sorry Mac. Oh only if Mitchell can go. They will get shelled by NE. Unless Harrison takes out Brady. I'm sure he is seething that he said Goodell will prevail and now Brady is playing. Bring the house early and often is the only way this Defense can look respectable.

Yes, the theme for this defense should be "attack at all costs", because we all know what the results of sitting back and playing safe looks like. We have some impressive athletes on our defense, like our safeties, Antwon Blake, Shazier, and now Dupree. Let's have them think less and attack more. An aggressive scheme begets an aggressive mentality, which is what some of these guys seem to be lacking - a killer instinct.

 

One issue with folks is they forgot what happened in the past. One beauty of the NFL is we typically have to wait and see how things play out over the course of the season.
