The Steelers did some restructuring today to add some room for injuries etc. Heath, Suisham, and Antonio Brown have been restructured. Nearly $6 Mil in cap room has been created. The team reportedly will use most of the cap room for injury offsets.

The team also has also worked out a raise for AB. The team did some a little less traditional and moved apx $2 Mil from 2016 so AB could get more in 2015. This wasn't just a simple salary to bonus conversion.

Why do all that this late in the game. Could they be working a trade or something?

They clearly need to bring in some more bodies... whether it's a bigger trade, who knows. It's not like they've gone to form this preseason.

I'm surprised they did this actually. Did they add any years to AB's contract? Man... they keep surprising me lately. I never know what's going to happen anymore.

I know restructuring is the name of the game in today's NFL, but isn't that kind of how we got in so much trouble with Woodley and Colon's dead numbers when they were cut? I guess my question is what's a better solution. Be brushing the cap every year and have to restructure, or leave about 5-8 million free every year for contingencies?

I doubt it personally. It wouldn't surprise me if they're trying to get some extra in-season cushion in place before locking down Beachum.

No. No additional years for AB. The trades definitely mix things up. That's for sure.

    Several thoughts....

Strange restructure for Brown. He gets a raise this year but reduced salary next year. Probably means he gets an extension next year to keep him happy and the team viable. Good deal........message for Bryant, clean up, straighten up, play like a beast and we'll take care of you... if not, bye bye hello Coates.

Suisham-- Again strange, They trade for Scooby, who's a legit challenger to his permanent roster spot, offer an extended contract, he refuses, now make Suisham dead money more next year........ looks like Suisham survived and Scooby is here but one year, hope he become a a pro bowl kicker this year!!!!!!!!

They were not in cap trouble.....needed a little room for Beachum's new upcoming extension.....

I got a .70 cent raise last month. I really should have had the Steelers negotiate it. Oh well. You live. You learn. I guess UPS doesn't feel like restructuring things so I can get that 2 million I deserve. I guess I will start holding out until they meet my demands.
