I didn't get to watch the game today due to my son having his game at the same time. I see MB had a big game with 138 yards. Do you think they were showcasing him for other teams or getting him some work for the season when he returns?

I feel he shouldn't have even been in the game today with what has transpired over the last week to enforce his actions are unacceptable as a Steeler. As a coach of 5th and 6th graders I have had to sit players for not maintaining a C average, school behavior, and other items that don't compare to MB. I dread the day when one of my players starts comparing these items to what is going on in the NFL.

It's possible, though, he doesn't need much showcasing after what he put on film last year. Personally, I thought it was Tomlin's way of putting him in the doghouse. Sort of how he did to Bell last preseason.

True he doesn't need much showcasing after last year, thought it might be a reinforcement of his abilities this year for teams. Hopefully if it is Tomlin's doghouse approach it works, the kid has skills....

But we allow convicted felons though. Most of us if we were to get a felony would be screwed out of quite a few jobs.

After seeing what $$$ Julio Jones got, I think we will not offer AB fair market value and he will be gone like all the others who become our #1 receiver. Fortunately we seem to keep finding talent at WR to keep this cost saving rotation going. So, IMO, MB will be staying until he costs too much.

I seriously hope we aren't showcasing him for other teams... He needs to be playing for the burgh. AB will very likely be too expensive in a few years and Bryant will become the #1. He has the skills for it too. You can't just throw away talent like that because of some pot. You do everything in your power to help him stay on track so he can be a beast on the field. He smokes pot, he's not a felon or a terrible person.

1 more failed test and hes gone for a year. I think they should role the dice and keep him but I understand the reasoning behind getting what you can for him now.

He should actually be let go in the same way Tone was gone. Same infraction as far as I can tell

I know you're kinda agreeing with me but... I can't help myself Lol

I couldn't fathom giving him up for basically nothing right now. Might as well try to trade Bell too since he could fail again and get suspended... We only have so many really good players and we can't just ship them out at the first sign of trouble. He has a chance to be a legit #1. You do whatever you can to try to make it work with him. The way I see it is, if we can't have him then no one can.The second you trade him for a meaningless pick and he turns into a stud elsewhere, your GM loses his job.

    He most certainly should not.

Santionio's was an 8 game suspension if I remember correctly. Bryant could be far superior to Holmes tho, so he gets a longer leash.

Still has issues relative to understanding what is required of him as a professional. Get off the weed. And it was 4 games

IIRC, it was 4 games. Either way, it got us Antonio Brown, so you won't hear me complain. :D

i know he had a good game but i'm not so sure the kid could be a #1 receiver at this point. all 3 of our guys benefit from each other being on the field that's for sure.

Oh, This is a "Team Sport?!?!"... And it might help to have Ben throwing them all the ball... With a good line in front of him,(even without Pouncey), and a threat of a running game, (even without Bell), and a decent O-Coordinator?!?!:hmm:...
    Sorry, forgot the Green font..

Damn shame about Bryant, tho...we should be able to weather the storm, given the rest of the talent at wr, but, Not Smart...

Millions of dollars, or a bag of weed...

Can buy LOTS of those later...

C`mon, STEELERS... The Rooneys really did used to place some importance on character...
Find that hard to believe, after we signed Vick..

Pot smoking is no big deal compared to that, but still... What`s the Chief thinking???

"I need to come back, and beat my boys with a switch!!!"...:hehehe::thumbs up:

yea bleed, i think with that #1 wr slot it comes with some higher demands than just talent. it some brains and work ethic involved with carrying a team as the #1 guy. i'm just not sure he's mature enough for that yet. the talent may be but the rest seems like a work in progress. i hope it comes around for him because i have always thought he had the talent to be a very good one.

Agreed Mac, he has the talent...

If he had the maturity, he would have looked around the league, and seen what happens to guys like Josh Gordon...

Hopefully, he will realize that, and soon...

I was so busy getting on my high horse, that I forgot to mention,

    I agree with the O.P.

How do you teach kids from pee-wee level, on up, to stay clean, and on the right path, when the players they look up to, don`t?

Now, I will get down off my high horse, and quit being a hypocrite, `cause I love Mary Jane, and I don`t understand why it should be a crime..

    I will just say,

You know the rules, and if you can make millions, by playing by the rules...
    Smoke, when you retire!!!

    :D

    GO STEELERS!:yeehaw:
