Any opinions on what this does to ticket sales?
Think people will dump their tickets on Stub Hub and with less demand for tickets it leads to lower resale prices?
Not Much of a noticeable change.
An increase in demand for tickets. (people wanting to see the circus)

I think that depends largely on if Ben stays healthy all year.

Is there a group that pickets wherever Vick goes? Serious question.

I went to the Steelers vs Eagles game in 2012 and there was a small group outside Heinz field. I'm not sure if anyone is still paying attention to him though?

I'm almost positive that there is a group of protesters that follow him around. Seems like I seen something about that one time.

Can you just imagine the cognitive dissonance Steeler Nation would be facing if Vick came in to lead a comeback victory for us in the Superbowl?!

    Not sure how I'd react.

Perhaps not. I'm not the judge of others. Good isn't black and white. We have very different mindsets if you think wishing harm on someone you disdain is the same level of evil as torturing dogs to death, or forcing its head in a bucket of water until it dies. I certainly can't make a deductive leap of that size to think someone would be capable of that kind of evil because they hope the guy who keeps stealing the paper slips on the ice in his driveway this winter.
Obviously Vick didn't invent dog fighting, but I think many people are overlooking the fact that he did a lot worse than bet on dog fighting.

Anyway, I'm not really sure why I'm arguing. I don't want to. Vick's served his time. These things happened a very long time ago. He's a Steeler now like it or not.

I hate how divided the fanbase will be from this. No matter the injury we endure we could always bank on Steeler loyalty. I always hope we never have to turn to the backup QB. Same in this case.

On the field, this signing doesn't make much sense. A washed up has-been 35 year old running QB who has lost more than one step. He doesn't know the playbook and hasn't operated an offense with with his type of firepower. His last 2 years production is not good. Sometimes the hell you know (Jones) is better than the hell you don't (Vick). Off the field, his signing makes even less sense. Why would KC, MT, and Rooney purposely do his kind of damage to the Steelers reputation and alienate a large part of the fanbase. Or do they think it won't do damage? If they don't think so, they have miscalculated.

That's actually called giving yourself up. Just like a kick-off return. Willingly going to the ground gives you some protection.

If he were to slip and fall and no one had touched him, could he throw that from his knees and it count or does he have to stand back up first?

I'm not outraged like some fans are, it's not like they signed Vick right out of prison like the Eagles did. He paid his debt to society although I don't think he can play anymore at a high level. I just hope Ben stays healthy for all 16 games and we won't have to watch Vick play.

Everyone keeps saying he's lost a step. So what? He's still faster than any QB this team has had in the last decade. He's expected to manage the game if called on. If he needs to run, so be it, he's still better at it than any QB this team has had in the last decade.

I Blame Tomlin 100 % for this... He wanted Vick when he was released from prison,, and apparently still has wood for him

They did it and I quote.... "because Mike Vick is the only person to have ever been on record as impregnating Chuck Norris" circa 2002. Hahahaha hate the signing might as well laugh it off. I'm not going anywhere, but can understand why folks feel how they do. I instantly wrote them off this season, but what is the point? These guys don't live in the real world and aren't treated like it in the same spirit.

I'd only hope that if I somehow bumped my head and acted out like an entitled idiot, that I'd be welcomed back. Wether he paid his debt or not, he isn't very good and in my opinion hasn't ever been all that and still gets to collect big bucks for nothing. In the real world, we would never get the second chance even if being mediocre was the law of the land.

Yeah because we operate a QB run option O.... not. Whatever his limited "strengths" may be don't fit this teams scheme and talent. Point is that he isn't a pocket passer and what he was once good at, he isn't anymore. He doesn't fit here and his limited skills and abilities won't win games for the steelers.

If the signing of 1 player makes you stop rooting for a team you claim to be a fan of, you're not a real fan IMO.

I'm not a Vick apologist or even a Vick fan for that matter. I don't necessarily like this signing but Vick has used this experience to change his life. He paid his dues and lost almost everything he had. He does public service, speaks to kids and other things trying to atone for his mistakes in the past. I understand that some of you can never see past his dog fighting, but what else does a man have to do to deserve a 2nd chance?

Quit crying ladies, it's football. If Ben goes down, given our schedule it's over anyways. Hope he rides the pine and then we cut him. Desperation move that's all.
