Disappointed. Not many options led to this.

I hope he never plays a down.

Even more, I hope a decent QB becomes available soon and we can sign a new one and cut Vick. But until our unless that happens, go Steelers and keep Ben healthy!

So, he can't wear 7 on his jersey unless he and Ben share....so I'd be in favor of '0'....or maybe '-2'?

It's a sad day in Steeler Land as far as i'm concerned. If Ben goes down and this POS starts, Sundays will be anything but Steeler football for me. Desperation. Landry Jones really has taken a step! Sickening.

Maybe you should have a look at the Steelers official Facebook page for a more accurate depiction of the fan-base's opinion of this signing.

It's the thought process. The lesser of two evils is still evil. If one can wish harm to someone they dislike or hate then what is that person capable of doing?

Vick paid his debt to society. He was given a second chance. People should move on. If people can't move on and want to stand by their convictions then those individuals should stop supporting the Steelers and ultimately the NFL.

It takes backbone to say no because of a glaring character issue despite the fact that it fills a need. Signing him was spineless.

Vick paid his time to the legal system, he didn't pay crap back to society except some fancy PR BS.

You're right, people standing by their convictions is so 10 years ago. Wouldn't want to offend anybody...

The Steelers aren't flawless, but more often than not we've come to expect them to take the moral high ground one of the reason many of the fans love their black and gold so dearly.

Surprising given Bens support of the local k9 enforcement agencies and Gays stance on domestic abuse. Not the same realm for Gays stance but it was abuse of another sort.

So helping get a law passed that to arrest those that attend dog fights isn't helping society. He didn't have to do anything he could have gotten out of jail served his suspension and moved. A team would have signed him but maybe just maybe he actually learned his lesson while in a correctional facility.

Shocked. Never in a million years would I have believed they would bring this piece of garbage here. I don't care if he did his time and paid his debts, I'll never forgive him. Hes only sorry because he was caught, a person that does what he did is heartless and evil.

Love the Steelers, love dogs more, I work with them and have 4 of my own. If Vick ever gets under center, I'm turning the TV off, I can't root for the guy.

So disappointed in Rooneys, Colbert and Tomlin. Wow. It's not even a good move from a football perspective, the guy is washed up.

I appreciate your opinion, but I really disagree with it. I do agree that he paid his debt to society, though.

Gay and Harrison get along just fine and Ben has already said he will welcome him with open arms.

I can't really see how anything good can come of this signing. Nonsensical and perplexing.

I think some of you are really over reacting to this signing. He's kept his nose clean since the whole dog fighting incident. At what point does someone deserve a second chance? From a football point of view, the signing makes sense. He's a veteran QB that, God forbid, something happens and Ben goes down for a few games he can hold down the ship and maybe even win a few games.

Steeehammer92, I find it funny that you've lost all respect for Vick and your picture is of Harrison one of the dirtiest players in recent memory and a guy who was arrested for smacking his girlfriend, charges were drop but he did it. For the record, I love the intensity Harrison brings but he makes me cringe a lot with his bs on the field.

It kinda makes me sad how few people are willing to let people have a second chance to redeem themselves today.

I showed this to my wife. Not surprisingly it wasn't enough even though she gives money hand over fist to the HSUS. I told her that anything less than him putting on a Supermans Cape and flying into a dog fighting operation to save the dogs won't be enough for her. :roflmao:

Vick didn't invent dog fighting. It's been an issue long before Vick was charged. It's still an issue today.
Vick's mistakes brought attention to a larger issue within some areas of this country. He still has to live with his mistakes everyday.

I think you should review the Steelers history of morality. The Steelers kept their share of players that made mistakes. Especially if those players were talented.

Lets get it straight. People don't love the Steelers because they are so moral. They love the Steelers because they won/win.

uhhhhh hitting people too hard makes you cringe? What else has he done on the field that is cringe worthy? He was a convenient target of Roger's witch hunt so he could show he was doing something proactive to try and weasel out of concussion lawsuits being filed by former players. 80% of the personal fouls he got called for were complete garbage.

 I don't even know where to begin. This is so, SO unlike the Rooneys. I just want to puke over this. So...what, if anything, can we as fans do? Answer - probably nothing, other than letting it be known that we are not happy. SMH!
