So does that mean you don't need your proton pack anymore? I mean if you aren't going to be doing any ghost fighting, I can take it off your hands.

You missed it. I hope everyone can get used to these dramatic changes.

Dentist appt. was painless. Scheduled a couple fillings and referred me out to an oral surgeon for a wisdom tooth extraction.

Some things came up yesterday that kept me away from my computer. I'll be going ahead with the upgrades today. We'll probably go dark in an hour or so, and come back online later this afternoon. Sorry for the delay.

There was a vote last week to change green font to mean "super serious", and bold, italic, black font to mean "sarcasm". I'm super offended right now.

Looks nice TTF, I'm familiar with this type of forum software. Theforce.net switched their forums to something similar a few years ago.

Here's a quick, non-inclusive list of what's different in this new forum platform. I'm sure I'm leaving some stuff out as I've been awake too long.

    User Tagging
By placing an @ symbol in front of a user's name, that user will receive an alert notifying them they were mentioned in that thread. Ex.- @thorn058

    Alert system
If you receive a new private message (called conversations by this software), you will get a pop up notification. There are other events that trigger alerts as well, such as being quoted, having a watched thread updated, etc. These can be set in your user preferences.

Responsive- ie. the site will adjust to the size of your screen. This wasn't possible with the other forum platform.

    Post Rating
Likes are back. We had a like system a while back, but it was so resource intensive that I had to kill it.

    Mini-avatar Post Indicator
If you've posted in a thread, a small avatar will appear next to the thread starter's avatar. Hovering over this will tell you how many posts you have within the thread, clicking on it will show you those posts.

    Media Embedding
The system can now easily embed media from several sites that it couldn't before. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Vine, Tumblr, BleacherReport, scribd, soundcloud, and ton of others that we don't really use here, but...

    Featured Threads
In the past, I had requests for a thread of the month feature, but there wasn't a way to implement it. Now we can. I haven't fully decided how to use this yet, but we do have the capability now.

    Quoting
If you click 'reply' under a post, it will automatically quote them and a reply box will appear. If you want to multi-quote, simply click +Quote for the posts you wish to quote.

There is also a minor addition, where you can select some or all of a post, and you'll see a 'Quote Me' button. Clicking on this will automatically add that quoted text in the reply box. This can be used like multi-quote, and can be used across different threads or forums.

    Integrated Weekly Pickem
The Picke'Em game is now built into the forum. Before, the pickem software was separate from the the forum system, and it was buggy. Now, Pick'em is fully integrated, and you'll even receive alerts reminding you to get your picks in. I haven't finished loading the season yet, but it'll be ready soon.

I'll give an illustrated how-to tomorrow.

Please use this thread for troubleshooting or if you think you've encountered a bug, please post it there, too.

Avatars are HUGE. It's a much different layout than I'm used to, but I'm sure it'll become second nature shortly.
