One of those chumps on TV finally said what I been thinking. Shamarko is the next Troy. Whoever it was said Last year Shamarko ask Troy what he had to do to be great. Evidently Troy gave him an answer.
You heard it here first. Shamarko has his breakout year on his first year to attempt

I've had high expectations for him since he was drafted. For now, I'll be happy if he just stays on the field let alone be the next Troy, that's a tall order to fill.

Staying on the field and not giving up huge plays would be great. The same goes for Mitchell.

Shamarko will never fill the shoes of one Troy Polamalu, let alone anyone else @ ss in the NFL. A one time freak gonna miss that guy!

Yeah Troy is a once in a lifetime player. There will never be another player that could do everything he did.

Hey Coastal, will be down in your lovely area 8-14-8-21 could you recommend reasonable restaurants that the locals like. Hopefully not all the chain restaurants. Fresh seafood will be on the menu when I am at the shore.

Thomas is a homeboy so I'm a little more optimistic then others...but he and Mitchell needs to gel just like troy and Clark did. I gave Mitchell a pass for last year because it was his first year in our system. Now, its time to show up. On another note, safety Dangerfield just got cut....this guy truly get no respect...he had a very good preseason last year. We could use him for depth. The man can hit

I like your hope Mac, but with all respect the Polamalu mold no longer exist. The spectrum of his abilities IMO won't be duplicated, he was blessed! As for Thomas, he's needs to stay on the field inorder to become a great, and i too hope he does just that. :smiley1:

well the sky is the limit for the kid. troy had a tough time staying on the field too. they used to play him some seasons when he shouldn't have been on the field too, just on reputation. my concern this year is still at safety depth. i hope these guys stay healthy. we need them. the land shark should do fine.:smiley1::cool:

I like aiming high , but not so sure he can even play in the NFL as a Starter. Something is missing with him and I sure hope he finds it .

Lebeau loves vets and that's why Allen started.

That is the only thing LeBeau did that made me mad. He wouldn't play young guys. You can learn books on the bench but you can't get better there

Exactly yeah a young guy may make a mistake or two but that is how you learn.

    http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/04/sorting-out-the-safety-position-after-troy-polamalu/

this explains that the shark was injured when troy went down too. the timing was bad as most of the reason shark didn't play much at that time. when he was healthy he hadn't practiced much because of the injury and they went with allen who needed little practice time to be ready. it wasn't lack of giving him the chance but more timing and having a vet alot more ready at the time. i think shark will be ok with the camp reps. he was able his rookie year to move into the slot, so i'm banking on him being able to step in at safety with plenty of practice in preseason. no worries here. he's fast hits hard, is a good tackler and a good cover guy. all pluses.

It'd be nice if he was the next Troy, but he don't need to be. He just needs to do his job and if healthy he will steadily become a goodn I think

Can we please stop with the comparisons. Their will never be another Troy Polamalu.

We can only hope that Shamarko Thomas:

    A) Stays on the field.

    B) Can learn and play the position properly.

    C) Contributes and makes some plays.

    Without A, nothing else matters...

I was going to guess Topsail beach at first.

SC GAMECOCK is down in the Myrtle beach area.

Coastal you're in Onslow county right? or Bogue? lots of retired marines there.

I've been in Wilmington and Oak Island a lot this year.

beware of the sharks! lol they have been abundant.

coastal, they have the new bypass hwy 17 finished up your way yet?

I don't like the combo of Mitchell and Shark back there. It seems to me both take some poor angles to the ball and both like hitting more than making a play on the ball... 1 of those 2 positions need to really play Safety not just force. Our DB'S need help over the top not sure we have that in Mitchell and Shark?
