I just wanted to see if anyone else has watched this video?

    1) WTF is up with David Carr's hair? Dude shave it off or grow it out this mohawk comb over thing is not working. Plus with all due respect but is Carr the most qualified former player that you could be asking about a winning's teams biggest concerns?

    2) Video they showed from OTA's had Silverback in sweats but working with the guys and showing them what to do. Veteran presence enough said.

    3) Really Shaun O'Hara just because DL is gone doesn't mean the Steelers forget how to play smashmouth football. Butler isn't some scrub off the street and while Steeler Nation is concerned we know Butler has worked under a great teacher and has good things up his sleeve. The offense may be getting all the ink lately but the defense is going to shock some folks and wake up the echos.

    4) Really David Carr Really? sorry that haircut, just I'm stunned.

I try not to watch these things because they always drive me nuts. 10 videos and you will find one video with one person giving an honest, well-thought-out assessment. Most of these guys follow the headlines but never really dig deep to really know what they are talking about. Besides, who is David Carr? Looks like the lead singer for Wham or something. (yes, I do really know who he is)

Apparently being sacked 76 times in one season can impair one's judgment.

I'm the same way. I honestly think most Steelers fans can analyze this team more than the "analysts" on tv. They really make my life miserable because all the fantasy only fans that I work with listen to these people and try to act like it makes THEM an expert on OUR Steelers. You can always tell who these people are because they only know the skill positions. If you try to talk about linemen and such they just look at you like you have 3 heads. Yet they know everything about the Steelers because of what a fantasy "expert" told them on ESPN. Also David Carr is a metrosexual and that explains the stupid haircut. I also don't understand why they are acting like Worilds was a world beater. No pun intended. I mean he was alright but it's not like he was Jack Lambert.

    Holy crap you are right!

Was thinking you forgot the infamous green font so I Googled "David Carr sacks" and found out that yes, he was sacked 76 times in the 2002 season! And then 68 times in 2005! Good for #1 and #3 on the all-time list. Ugh.

I don't know what you guys are going on about, other than Carrs haircut, what was wrong about what he said? Our biggest concern in week 1 is not the absence of Bell??? Whats our biggest concern then? They are discussing week 1, not the season in its entirety.

And even know Ohara was tripping all over his words, he's right, we don't know what this defense will look like. We have no idea what Butler has in store for it.

I don't question Carr's take on Bell just that he would have a career talking about football which shouldn't be that surprising since Tim Hasselbeck has a career doing it lol.

What I take issue with is the assumption that the Steelers who have long been defined as a team that plays tough smash mouth football on defense is some how without an identity because DL is gone. Like I said we have some concerns about what Butler is going to do but we know they are still going to be a 3-4 base defense that is physical and aggressive. O'Hara should have talked about how all these young pieces will fit and less about defining the team by the defense.

For the record, I was commenting solely on the haircut.

This is the first time I have ever even seen Carr as an analyst so I can't form an opinion yet but he was spot on in that piece.

As for Ohara, we haven't been smash mouth football for a while, even with DL. Thank the league and declining talent level they had for that. Butler has some pieces to work with so we'll see what he can do with it. I expect him to be aggressive.

I would always get so mad in the last few years when they would talk about our defense like we were the same hard hitters of the 70s or the 08 defense. We've not been that for a few seasons at least. There's a myriad of reasons for it but it's still the truth. I don't think we've become "finesse" by any means and I think we have the desire to go out and drill people but it just hasn't panned out in the past few years. I'm dying to see our backers bring the heat again and maybe this year we are gonna get back to it.

I like it because I like hearing others opinions... right or wrong. I didn't have much issue with anything said other than the comments about Worilds..... Colbert has already publicly said worilds was not in their plans for the future, they had already planned on moving forward without him so all their comments about Him shows their poor reporting skills.

Analysis like this are always laughable to me:
    1. No dick leabeau..... gee, let's just turn it over to the guy who studied under him for years
    2. No troy or ike...... are these guys looking at film from 3 or 4 years ago... clearly, they didn't see any games the last 2 yrs.
    3. They keep talking about our aging defense.... am I missing something here???
    Etc., etc.
It seems to me that the analysts that these sites are hiring, came from of list of village idiots

There are better Steeler football minds on this board than the NFL has working in their studios.

These peeps just over think things way to much . To me it is simple we have a Great Offense and good ST'S coverage . The Defense needs to gel in some way and we need to get our return game going.

The offense was ranked number 2 in total offense last year, and the defense wasn't even close to top 10 and they still won their division despite the defense, and the offense shined without a strong return game, if this years defense ranks just close to 10, this years team should be in the super bowl hunt in the post season barring any rash of injuries, that said, I do expect this years defense to be markedly better than last years, the good news is this offense can carry this defense until it gels again, if they come out of the chute struggling a bit early on....

Carr wore this style @ times in cottage and the NFL not something new. Speaking of styles the Boz was the king, week to week you didn't know the color nor style he was bringing to the field. I could mention others but don't want to hijack the thread with hair, long beautiful hair, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen. Give me down to there, Hair. Shoulder lenght or longer hair. Here baby, there mama. Everywhere daddy daddy hair. The devil made me do it. :lolol:

Much more lyrics but thank you Cowsills for the 70's laughter.

I agree and expect this D to be better as well... A change in the approach should go a long way . I am all in on getting the front guys moving forward and more 1 gap responsibility that Butler has been talking about.

I have never liked any brand of Football that requires thinking to much.Don't get me wrong I love DL ,but 1 weak link could ruin the whole scheme. We have multiple weak links so just turn them loose and play aggressive...
