I was watching the Forged Steel series and these two look like LBers now especially Jones. I think we are about to actually see Sacman Jones this year. Shazier looks thicker also and I think he is really going to tear S*** up this year. I honestly get the feeling are LBing corp is about to return to the dominant group we are used to. I think k our front 7 as a whole is going to be nasty.

Shazier is going to light it up this year. Commentators will talk about his 40 time so much we'll grow tired of hearing it.

Man, I hope so. If he and Jones could kick those injuries, it would be great. Love to see what they can do healthy over the course of a season. With Jones, I'm still curious what he is even capable of because he hasn't been on the field long enough to make an educated judgement.

Hopefully I will be heading up to Latrobe at least once this year. On the "previous" site, after I would to camp, I would usually post a little write up of some things I saw and players that stood out....in good ways as well as bad lol. If I make it up there this time around, I'd be happy to do that.

That would be great - I always like reading camp reports from the spectators view, especially as they can see the things the official reports don't catch.

These two have a chance to become dominant Steelers for many years to come. My hope, they stay on the field for the entire season without recurring injuries. I do understand injuries are inevitable for all players. Real time real football will truely reveal what we have with these two. I'm ready for some football!!

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this year plays out for him. The suspense is killing me.

Oh man, that'd be awesome. We eat that up around here. Maybe we should start featuring individual camp reports. :hmmm:

Hey, I'm game. Usually when I come back from camp I'm all fired up and feel like I need to share it with someone anyway.

yes please. Camp impressions are always appreciated especially by those of us who are too far away to get reliable stuff coming out of camp. We also need more fodder for the Landry Jones thread since it seems to have stalled out at 100 responses.

LOL, I get it. At the last place there was a Dri Archer thread that was like 280 pages long, that I confess to helping to stay alive quite a bit ha ha ha. Classic. I am interested in this Landry Jones thread you speak of.

Thanks. Actually that wasn't too bad of a read. I must say that some good points were made all around. There is a segment of people who are always gonna freak out over draft picks and think that the Steelers should hit on 99% of them every year. Hell I used to get into arguments all the time at the other place because there were like 5 guys who HATED the selection of Lawrence Timmons back in the year he was taken. HATED IT. They went crazy on draft day about how he was a bust, how it was a terrible pick, blah, blah, blah.

So fast forward a few years when he turns out to be a very good player and do they ever admit they might have been wrong? Nope. What they do instead is hang out in the Gameday threads wait for the ONE play where he does something wrong so they can pounce as a group. He makes 10 really good plays....no comment. Then he misses a tackle and they are off to the races about that's why they hated the pick, they were right all along, he sucks.

It was infuriating. There are just people who MUST be right at all times. You should have seen when Timmons made All Pro last season. Heads were almost exploding. Know what the criticism was then? Yeah but he was 2nd Team All Pro! Sometimes you just gotta laugh at people.

Come to think of it, one of the chief Timmons haters of that group that I used to argue with all the time had just been promoted to Moderator right before I got banned. Lol, kinda makes me wonder now that I think about it. Oh well, all for the best.

Any extra information would be appreciated! Not a chance I will get to Latrobe any time soon. On my bucket list but definitely not in the cards this year. I am looking forward to the competition at LB and DL this camp. It seems we have some much needed depth at both positions.

I also want to see how DeAngelo Williams looks in camp. I have a feeling he will be a very valuable signing this off-season. I just think he is going to fit in very well and be able to lessen the wear and tear on Bell.

Lol, I can imagine. So much is in the eye of the beholder - once someone has decided a player does something (drops balls, doesn't block, etc. etc.) then they're determined to see it.

Landry Jones likely IS a bust. But who cares, he was a 4th round pick. I dont care if most of those bust as long as most of our first and second rounders become really good players.

Lol yeah I don't see Landry having a breakout season any time soon. Anyways I think his 3 years are up.

As you say for a 4th Rounder it's a crap shoot most of the time. If I had to guess I'd say probably only 30%-40% of 4th Round picks become established NFL starting players. Most either flame out after a year or two or find a niche as backup/depth players. Sure is nice to find those late round gems who turn into stars though. That's part of the excitement.

I'm guilty of being hard on Timmons
seemed he was hurt regularly early on.

    FRAGILE' HIS END UP!
