What could have been if the Steelers had a competent back-up for Ernie Mills when he went down. Holliday and Hastings got smacked around pretty good by the Cowboys safeties and forgot their reads. I was never a huge O'Donnell fan but he had help blowing that Super Bowl.

I've always wondered how many rings the Steelers would have right now if the Steelers weren't afraid of a little dope smoking from Marino and drafted him. I say they would have at least 9. Remember all the awful QBs between Bradshaw and Ben.

Never thought Hastings was that bad... but you make a good point here.

well, if we add all the Lombardi's Marino won in Miami to the PGH total, it would raise the grand total to 6.

Yeah, because having one of the best QB's to ever play the game wouldn't have helped. Its not like TB or Ben helped us to win any SB's.

So did I... In real life..., but, this is a messageboard, and "what if`s", fuel it!!!

Who`s this "Neil" guy, everyone is talking about???;)

Actually, I`m kinda upset, that the OP, brought to my attention we coulda traded our unnamed qb, for Montana, at the end of his career....

I already knew we screwed up on Unitas, and Marino, but, I never knew we coulda had Joe at that time!!!

Thanx for pouring salt in the wounds!!!

Hindsight be damned!!! We are talking about Joe frieking Montana, vs. the nameless one, before he even got us to the Superbowl!!!
    OOPS!!!

Roooney`s... "Hmmm...:hmmm: what have we needed to make this team a S.B. contender since Bradshaw retired?"...

Jr... "A quarterback???... I hear some guy named Montana is available..."...

Somebody... "Nah, we got O`Donnell... let`s stick with him!"...

    Me..."AHHHRRRGGGHHH!!!!:mad::butcher:

    GO STEELERS!!!

    Lol! Sorry for the heartache.

I feel your pain, though, if it's any consolation. :sorry:

forget montana, Terry Bradshaw was injured and going into his last year in pittsburgh and Rooney wanted to draft DAN MARINO.

Minimum....minimum two more superbowl wins if steelers drafted him. and they should have. Team asked bradshaw if he was healthy. He lied and said yes.
