could deflate gate affect our opener?

The last time NE got spanked they didn't lose a game in the regular season. They are going to be more fired up this time (they admitted to spygate but claim innocence this time) and I wouldn't be surprised that emotion combined with a very easy schedule doesn't give them another 16-0 year.

 

They should! But they refuse to by placing higher priority over certain teams and not even handedly dealing with similar instances year in and out. Employing A holes that shouldn't even sniff a decent amount of money when they can't even get their act together before draft day etc... The equip,net boys will lose their job. Tom will go on to rewrite history untarnished etc... Crooked!!!

There are a lot of Steeler haters who bring up steroids. So the allegations do exist...not sure how much weight they carry. It's been presented to me several times (regarding Webster and the o-line) and my reply is always sarcastic: "The line was so juiced that Franco ran wild in X, XIII, and XIV."

 

IF they were using, so were most other teams. I don't think the league even tested for steroids in the 70s. It doesn't make it right, but I do think it was more widespread than a lot of people believe. Do you think Conrad Dobler wasn't on roids? Yeah, right!

 

I think they should fine Brady and Belichick a few thousand dollars. That will stop them from cheating in the future because they will have learned their lesson.

 

That's my point. Those Cowboys and Rams' d-lines were doing it too.

 

There is no way Brady will be suspended for the home opener just basing off of how the report read. "It is possible that Brady had knowledge" Are you kidding me?This is an appeal teams dream. Nothing that can be proven. Gooddell knows it and so should Brady by this point that they cannot prove anything.

Besides, Can you see the opening of the 2015 season for Champions at home without their golden boy on the field? It would make the NFL look like the WWE. Not that it's too far off but Ole Rog and Kraft do not want that atmosphere during their time to shine.

If he happens to get suspended at all (to which I have my doubts) it will be against a non conference opponent.

If I'm Brady, I'm denying everything and laughing at the assumption.

 

All and all, as much as I want a hefty Ban/Suspension/Fine I would love to see Shazier and Dupree light Brady up a couple times in that opening game much, much more. A couple good hits right below the chin

Maybe NFL couldn't ban the PATs from the postseason since it has never been done before. But I know in certain European soccer leagues they do some unique things. Like they will ban fans from multiple games so a club must play to an empty stadium. Some clubs are banned from certain cups and derby's as well for things like devious, fraudulent financial moves.

 

1. There was no evidence that Ben did anything...and that was off the field. He got four games.
2. Nothing circumstantial about Brady lying that he didn't know McNally.
3. The report's wording is meant to suggest he is, indeed, guilty.
4. At first, I didn't think suspension was likely, but most members of the media, including Don Banks at SI, are saying they expect it will be two games.

 

5. The notion that Brady is truly innocent is at odds with basic logic. No way in hell do ball boys just randomly mess with a bunch of footballs on a hunch. Brady isn't just vaguely aware; he's behind it. I would be shocked if Belichick didn't know, and I'd bet good money he did know, although I admit it's possible that Tom would keep it from him to allow Bill deniability. But there is no way in hell Tom is innocent.

Now we all get to find out if cheating your way to a Super Bowl 4 times is as bad as smoking a joint in the offseason where it's legal.

 

1. The NFL is corrupt and bias and it starts with the love affair between Gooddell and Kraft. Ben would have been suspended for spitting on a sidewalk if Gooddell could get away with it, nevertheless a second rape allegation.
2. There is nothing in the report that can actually be proven. If the system is going to base things off of "possible knowledge" of an infraction then they will be opening up Pandora's box to never having to prove anything and can suspend nearly anyone for anything.
3. Wording that "SUGGESTS" still doesn't prove diddly.
4. Mainstream media makes me want to puke and most people that believe anything they say are incredibly gullible.

 

5. Still doesn't prove anything.

 

Hell at that time no one tested for it besides the Olympics and Schwarzenegger won numerous bodybuilding championships! Different time in sports!
Those guys basically treated it like a supplement that wasn't regulated with risks from using it.


Can't compare to what happens now with how they try to vet everything that's on the market. Hell we get bulletins in the military every month about stuff that's not ok for us to use even though it's sold at every health food store!

 

The "they did it too" argument is the one I hear cheatriot fans shouting about all the time, drives me nuts. The difference was steroid use wasn't banned in the NFL till the late 80's. Doesn't make it morally right in my opinion, but it wasn't violating the rules of the game.

 

Why isn't the Center being questioned? Receivers? RB's? Who's to say the punter doesn't prefer the balls under inflated? They all handle the balls more often than not. I'm certain they would be able to tell a difference.

Basically the report is a joke.

 

If we're talking proof, do you have "reasonable doubt" that Brady didn't know about it? I just don't see it. Being as objective as possible, I don't see anything close to reasonable to suggest he wasn't in on it.

You can go ahead and pretend the ball boys came to him with the idea. "They were the masterminds! I begged them not to deflate the balls! I told them we had to respect the rules! But they did it anyway!" Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Bart tends bar for the mafia, and when busted, they go to trial claiming Bart is the head of the crime family, and they all work for him.



Anyway, my whole point is that it's plain as day that Brady is guilty even without an investigation. The investigation has been done, and it did come up with proof, and says he did it in the language the NFL uses.

 

Yeah, probably what happened was #2 tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, or maybe the punter, messed with all the footballs and customized them just the way he likes, because he knew he'd probably touch the ball once or twice during each game. He didn't care that it might throw off all his QB's throws or receivers' catches. He didn't think they needed to know. Your defense of the indefensible is a joke.

 

What I am saying is the report is a complete joke and unquestionably leaves a lot of doubt. Possible knowledge? It doesn't prove a single thing.

If I'm Brady. I appeal that all day long. It bodes well for him. Every text message by a couple of equipment guys can be denied til the sun comes up. Did they find receipts from the shoes that were bought cause that would be a direct link but good luck with that.

I mentioned the Center and the other players. How much were they interrogated or even asked for that matter?

The whole report is basically written by a lawyer and the timing is even worse as far as disciplinary action is concerned.

 

Obviously, they learned nothing from the punishment meted out after Spygate. Goodell should vacate their last Super Bowl win! It seems extreme but I'll bet it would be effective and would deter cheating by the Pats and the rest of the league going forward.

 

The only way those peeaitor suckers will ever stop cheating is to take Lombardi tropheys away from them. And I am sicking of hearing the score alone says the *pats beat em bad, Don't forget harder balls bounce off of all hands
