I mean he isn't huge but there have been plenty of really good short corners. It seems like if the ball is in his area it us his. OK he's not great in man coverage great who cares we don't run it a lot anyways. You don't have to be super tall in zone coverage you need to be able to read and react. He had a good verticle and is a natural athlete having turned down the Red Sox in 2011. He did play both sports for ole miss.

I'm sure the first time he's right where he's supposed to be in coverage and still gives up the catch, the board will implode!

same as the first time he jumps a route (how many times have the DBs been given the green light), the will be the other side pointing out how her didn't need to be bigger.

Should I go back to how many times Gay is blasted for getting trucked by AP?

I would rather they had taken either Rollins or Marpat who were both selected after the Steelers picked. There are a million small slot corners with ball skill you can roll the dice on in later rounds. Undersized CBs that are great athletes are a dime a dozen. I just think the first 2 rounds should be used on HWS potential superstars.

I will come around on him later I'm sure, but right now I'm not happy about it.

:this!:We got another midget CB, at least he has good hands and is a ballhawk. FWIW Mel Kiper had this pick as one of the best so far.

    Yes, actually two ways:
    a) A couple of glasses or binoculars
    b) One rookie season with some interceptions and big plays

I didn't really have a strong opinion on Maxx Williams one way or the other, but it just torques me off that the Rats jumped ahead of us and picked him. Man I hope we destroy those jerks next season!

    Senquez Golson:

    5'9

    176 lbs

    29 3/4 inch arms

    33.5 inch vertical

    And nothing to worry about.

Clemmings has a foot issue but if he is there in the third I'm grabbing him. If healthy he could be our LT of the future and then they could slide Beach in when Fosters contract is up.

So we are in round three and we still have glaring needs at corner and left guard. Who are the best fits left? Alex Carter? Who else?

The way the secondary is shaping up, they'd better be ballhawks and not get into short yardage situations with tall receivers.

So... Moving on, 3rd round targets? I am surprised that Jalen Strong is still available. Definitely in the BPA discussion. Still love PJ as a big corner. Also like Doran Grant at corner.

Let's not forget our past experiences drafting prospect CBs

    McFadden was 6'0, 190 (2nd round)
    Taylor 6'2, 189 (4th round)

Sure, we've also had Gay, Colclough, Washington and others (feel free to add the long list of bust CBs we have drafted).

Even though, the last time we drafted a CB in the 1st round (correct me if I'm wrong) he was 6'1, 205.... Chad Scott, anyone?

All of them were beat often, either on short, long, crossing routes or bubble screens. This guy brings something to the table none of the above brought. And all of them had their chances to prove it.
This guy makes thing happen. And that's why I love this pick.
