You guys are making too big of a deal about his height. His instincts and hands will make up where the height lacks

They didn't panic, they obviously had a higher grade on him than people here did.

We need turnovers and this guy finds the ball. If he's picking off passes next year, don't think too many people will care about his height and weight.

All true. His ball skills are unique. Put 3-4 inches and 20-25 pounds on him and he's a top 15 pick.

I'm sure you're right, but it sure looks like a reach to me. Did we really need a slot corner as a second round pick? I will learn to live with it because I would have been fine with him as our second corner drafted. Let's hope we double dip and take an actual boundary corner in the next round.

watch his tape. he plays against bigger wrs all the time and does great. if he touches ball he normally catches it. we haven't had that in a long time. he times his jumps well. I love the pick and I think he starts.

Height and weight. Can you remember a Steeler CB this small? 5'9 is small for a CB, but not unusual. 170 lbs though is.

Carnell Lake on Golson: "Had he been 2 inches taller we probably wouldn't have gotten him. He has unusual ball skills."

I had a feeling it might be Carter if it was going to a DB and maybe Golson in the 3rd even.

But I have no problem with the pick...we'll see how it goes come game time!

Don't have to be tall to jump routes, he looks like a ball hawk, get a good pass rush, jump the route, bingo.

Will we care when he's getting beat for TDs? Size matters, and not just at OLB.

I remember people saying we reached for leve'on bell in the second round a few years ago too. Golson was obviously high on our board.. Some people in here are acting like Tomlin and Colbert are just watching ESPN in the draft room and went down Mel Kipers best available list until they came to the first DB and said ok we'll take him. Lol

    Hahaha.

Exactly...this stuff happens often...remember a year or 2 ago when Dallas drafted that C in the 1st who most out there had a 3rd-5th round or lower grade on and he went on to be a solid pick/etc. There are other examples, but just wanted to point that one out.

He's probably going to have to put some weight on, which will most likely effect his speed and or durability.

Correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember a few years ago this board wanting Arthur Brown really badly in the 2nd round and people losing their minds when The Steelers picked Bell instead because everyone said he was a reach. How did that work out?
