I really think if he is there, he is the guy. the one thing that concerns me now is ike and troy gone. veteran leadership on the defense is no longer in the secondary. I wonder if that might play into the pick or do they think that Timmons and heyward can be strong enough leaders in locker room to help this kid.

i have no doubt he is the most talented cb and would like to have him. that just concerns me a little or am i making to big a deal of it?

I think Goodell is a douche for moving the draft bck 2 weeks!!!. As long as we get one of the Top CB'S in the draft im fine with whoever

I like Peters over Kevin Johnson ...

but I think the best fit for our defense in its current form are Quinten Rollins or Alex Carter. Byron Jones is impressive too.

With all of the buzz about Peters, I'm going to have to go back and watch more tape. My current impression is negative. Yes, he has the quick twitch reflexes and speed to cover receivers, but I'm not sure that he'll do anything else. I watched 3 of his games, and stopped watching one of them part way through because I hated his tackling effort. I thought he looked like a bad teammate - kind of like his view was "just let me cover my guy and don't make me worry about all of the tackling and run support stuff." Yes, there were a few good plays and tackles here and there that make the highlight cut ups, but over the course of a whole game I would always see more things that I didn't like vs. things that I liked.

So, I'll watch again with an open mind, but from what I've watched so far, combined with the discipline at Washington, I wouldn't touch him in the 1st, and probably not in the 2nd either unless there was a run on corners.

Agree 100%. I would not touch him before the 3rd round and is on my short list of guys I would NOT want in the 1st.

He's not good enough in pass coverage to make up for his lack of tackling and psych concerns. Deion Sanders he isn't, and he would need to be in order for me to take him in the 1st with his issues.

CB should be our priority target in the 1st, but he shouldn't be on that list.

I am not crazy about his "emotional issues." One GM said, "He's good, but not good enough to ignore his emotional issues." I think we should consider the Browns Gilbert pick from last year. Word is, that even though while very athletic, his bad attitude (poor work ethic) has made him worthless so far. That could change, but it might not. I am hoping they greatly consider attitude and intelligence when making their picks. Remember what Tuna told Jimmy Johnson (and what JJ told Belichick): You can't fix stupid. Don't draft dumb players. And I consider anyone who is overly selfish to be dumb. No one with any smarts would have such a dumb attitude. If Peters is wired like that, pass on him.

I went back and watched all 7 of Peters' games on draftbreakdown.com. I even watched a couple of them multiple times. After watching more, I don't dislike him as a prospect as much as I did after watching 3 games, but I'm still not enthused about risking a 1st rounder on him either. He undeniably has coverage skills - in both man and zone, and has really good ball skills (check out his Oregon State game from 2013 for ball skills). However, I still see his tackling being very spotty with anyone 200 lbs and up. He also has a tendency to get grabby downfield. He's not as bad as Dennard was last year, but he will draw some flags in the NFL. Something about seeing him on the field with his teammates seems a bit off to me as well. He's a guy that seems to rarely if ever congratulate a teammate on a big play, but he'll thump his own chest when he makes a play. He looks like a me first player on the field.

And then there's the other stuff. He was suspended for a game by head butting an opponent, and then had a meltdown on the sideline after the head butting incident. He also supposedly argued with a coach right before being dismissed from the team, and it was alleged that he choked that assistant coach (which he denies). I just don't know. I like his play vs. receivers in the passing game, but I wouldn't want to live with the me-first attitude on the field and wondering if he's going to blow up off the field.

Not sure about the me first attitude, Elvis. The week he was dismissed, he was texting with his teammates, including the player replacing him helping them game plan. Sounds like a guy that just wants to win.

Well, we don't get to interview him, so we'll never know for sure. I have read plenty about his situation, and it's enough to be a solid red flag. Based on what I've read, I would be leery of him. There's more that went on there than meets the eye, but it's not going to be discussed publicly - with respect to his dismissal, his coach said ""It’s never one thing. We’re not going to dismiss a guy because it’s one thing,"

Peters off-field issues scare me a heck of a lot more than Gregory's off-field issues. Those attitude/headcase guys usually backfire.

All Gregory has to do is not get caught again.

I would be leery, I'm just saying I don't think "me first" is one of the things I'd be leery about. The rest I would though, especially the choking but their are reports that refute that, so who knows.

I would be surprised if he were the pick. Attitude problems rarely go away. They brought him in for an interview, so they obviously like his skill set and think he would be a fit physically, etc. BUT, did he pass the "fit in the locker room" test. We'll probably never know the results of the interview, but tough for me to think they'll take the chance so close after the Blount problem. Is the on-field play really that much greater than how he may affect the rest of the players/coaches attitudes? Unless they have solid info. that it was lopsided "grievances" (for lack of better term) on the part of the coaching staff, I would tend to look elsewhere.

I don't like his leaning towards being selfish and immature. Can we afford those types during a period where we lack vet leadership? It's not like we have a James Farrior, J Peezy or Hines Ward to help keep the youngsters in line.

I would be okay with taking Peters at #22.
