At the same time..... NO WAY IN HELL I would want to see a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh..... unless the Steelers were playing.

Pgh is a unique and cool town that I will always have a place in my heart for. That being said, you should have seen/spoke to the people from Pgh who came down here for the Jags game. The most common comments were, "This is how you live down here? This is your weather? I am seriously thinking about moving down here." Heard it all day long - tailgating, fans in the stands, etc. So, some people will think they prefer the north east climate over southern cities. Some will agree that a SB in a northern city is unattractive and undesirable. Some like vanilla ice cream over chocolate. No one can decide what your personal preferences are other than you. I like heading out each day in sandals and shorts. I love it. I lived in various places off Lake Erie not long ago, and I have had enough cold and snow for my lifetime. But that is just me.

No, not logical. I find nothing wrong with keeping the play offs with home fields, as attained during the season, but to have the FINAL game on a neutral field in a city that has nice weather and a great party format. That's what the Super Bowl has always been, and that is part of its appeal. I have yet to meet anyone who went to a cold weather SB and said they prefered it. I haven't heard a single player complain about a warm weather local either.

I would suppose that there are probably a lot of arrests during Super Bowl week at a city. Especially one that is in like a beach town or something. I wonder if they are considerably less in the colder places? Probably less PI arrests and things like that.

IDK how it is now, but in the past, hosting towns made efforts to limit arrests, as they wanted the fans to have a good time and remember the city fondly. Of course, I am not saying they would let serious crimes go down, but they would be slow to hand out public drunkenness charges and things of that nature.

So they really sorta treat it like Mardi Gra or Bike Week in Sturgis or something?

Exactly. Just think about how many tailgaiters they could arrest at a regular game and don't. Just as long as people don't get out of hand. New Oreleans is really good at this at Mardi Gras.

When I took my wife to her first tailgate she asked if it was legal to have open containers of alcohol. I said "no". She asked why the police don't arrest people. I said "what are they going to do, arrest 20,000 people"?

Precisely. I was even going to mention New Orleans as an example. Not only can you have open containers around Heinz Field, you don't even have to keep it in the tail gate area; you can walk right by cops with an open beer all the way up to the stadium, and no one even gives you a look. We used to finish our beers right before we walked into the stadium. No one says a thing. Same thing in J Ville, and most towns, I would guess. Although, as hard as it is to believe, some cities don't have tail gating at parking lots. Can you imagine that? But look at this list; it is garbage. The only fans that even come into discussion as being as good at tailgating than Steeler fans are KC and GB. They put Miami ahead of us? That is a total joke. They don't even sell out their stadium, how can they have better tailgating than we do? Whoever put this together is clueless.

You could make an argument that we a third, at the least. 10th? They are on crack.

I believe it is a function of pierogies not getting the same ranking as brisket and lobster. To that extent I can understand. Having been to many other team tailgates, I do give credit to KC for food and GB for long time loyalty. Regarding Miami, it would not break my heart if we competed better in the sexy women category. The worst I went to was Atlanta. The Atlanta fans weren't into it, but there were actually more Steeler fans tailgating.
