Here are some of Bud Dupree's games. 5 from 2014, and 2 from 2013. Feel free to add any you know of.

Not really sure why this guy is getting a first round grade. There were times when he had an amazing jump on the snap but the RT was still able to block him effectively. On some runs, he seemed to have trouble recognizing the carrier. He did drop into coverage a lot more than I expected so he has some experience with that aspect. A lot of his splash plays were on those where he was unblocked.

I didn't see a distinction between him and the supposedly "2nd tier" OLBs.

Not at all. Combine really elevated his hype amongst the media draftniks. We'll see if any of the teams bite on his potential..."we can work with that athleticism!" I just don't think he has the hatred required to be an explosive OLB.

Several weeks ago I watched 2 or 3 of DuPree's games, and was pretty unimpressed. After watching a few more games, I can sort of see the 1st round grade. However, it's a grade based on unrealized potential IMO. There's a really good football player inside of this kid waiting to get out, but it's going to take some good coaching and desire on his part for him to become the player that he can be. I would probably be OK taking him at #22 depending on who else is available, but I would be looking at 2015 as a redshirt year for him - which is pretty much par for the course for our 1st rounders lately anyway.

Holy cow that Mizzou game he really made his presence known! If he played like that every game he hands down would be my first choice for #22.

This is why JJ Watt is so great, he doesn't take plays off. Teams must find the guys that want to play every down. You will see Aaron Donald become JJ Watt Type because
    he doesn't take plays off.

this is why i went with a different scenario in the thread (i could see them doing something like this). everyone wants a top pass rusher but i think many of them this year are more potential than actual output. harold, hunter, dupree, golden, hodges, barnes, allen, mckinney and several others are the same guy. potential.

there is a second and third tier of guys that could be just as good i think, with time. i don't think they force a pick here for any of them. i have a feeling alot of people will be bi**hing this year for us not taking one as early as they think.

if they do, i'm still feeling kikaha or OO or dupree would be the favorites. i will say stephone anthony still intrigues me. we may not see the same old OLB we have grown used too around here in the future. and then i could be totally wrong.

Makes for interesting conversation. I would like to see a possible heavier pass rushing type OLB (Kevin Green)than what the Steelers have been drafting. Of course with this type we would be sacrificing pass coverage ability. I guess Keith Butler will have to figure this out?

maybe we leave the coverage to our new db's and shazier and Timmons with their speed and allow the OLB'ers to do what we need them to do. we also have better pass rush ability with heyward and tuitt than in the past. the front 5 need to stop the run and get to the qb, then we can cover the backside easier with speed. hopefully anyway. Emanuel is pretty good, just small school, but a small school that was at the top of small schools.

That's just one small part of what makes Watt great. Plenty of terrible guys don't take plays off. Ziggy Hood had a great motor, and as his biggest defender I was barely satisfied with his performance. Watt is great because of his abilities. The motor is what will keep him great for years to come.
