I was just looking to see what happened and who is still available in the free agent market, and made a few observations.

    1. QB's Matt Flynn and Tavaris Jackson are out there. Are we cool with Landry Jones?

    2. WR Jeremy Maclin got a 5 year deal for 55 million from KC. Dude will be lucky to make the team, and they got no competition. KC general manager should get axed!

    3. Speaking of WR's, it looks like Nate Washington is available, hmmm.

    4. Edge Rusher Dwight Freeney is available, and rumored to have a year left in the tank. 1 year 2 mill?

    5. Dashon Goldson, a pretty nice safety is available?

    6. The Dallas Cowboys got electrifying RB Darren McFadden for 2 years and 3 mill, and we got Deangelo Williams for 2 years and "4 mill". I'd rather have D Mac rather than D Will.

    7. And speaking of RB's, is that THE Chris Johnson thats still available, the one with a 2000 yard season?

    1. They will generally keep a young guy for #3...plus those 2 suck.
    2. Not sure what this is saying, but lucky to make the team? Huh? Moving on...
    3. I'd welcome Nate back...
    4. Eh...not sure if he has much left...his stats from last year didnt look great.
    5. Not sure...probably will want more money than they are willing to pay. Plus where do you play him.
    6. HA...I'd take Williams over the bust McFadden any day.
    7. Yes and hes all washed up.

No, but Jones is still on his rookie contract, so he is cheaper.....worse as a QB, but cheaper.

More of a Andy Reed deal, one would think.

So who losses playing time if Nate comes on?

Not discount price tage enough for the Rooneys.

    Electrifying in the hot tub?

The one who is all used up? Yea, that one.

Or he just played on a dumpster fire of a team. The surrounding cast can make you look better or worse than you really are at times.

Nobody he would be the #4-5 WR and the usual veteran presence on the WR core.

Not only can the surrounding cast make you look better or worse, but you are also far more motivated to do well then your team is winning and talented all over. Once you realize you are on a "dumpster fire" team, you can lose hope and fall into despair. One could argue that, you are getting paid to do the job, always do your best. But, it is human nature to fail to give that last 2% of effort, which can make or break your play, when you know your team stinks.

I don't particularly like any of the guys mentioned. I'd rather they take a look at TE Rob Housler, CB Kyle Wilson, or roll the dice on DE Adam Carriker.

I wouldn't hate the move, but I like trying to develop as much young talent as possible, as they provide cheap labor, even up to 4 years worth. I don't feel we need an increase in vet presence; AB is currently the leader of that group and provides a fine example to imitate for the young ins; he _is_ one of the very best players in the NFL who gives a mad effort on game day, and in practice. I honestly don't see why we need more vet presence on the WR unit.

We need to stop this belief that Brown's work ethic will rub off on teammates and drive them to work as hard. It's a nice thought but it has shown zero evidence of manifesting itself. I love the guy's drive and work ethic but he still does stupid stuff as well. The Young Money Club Had Ward and Brown to show them the benifit of working hard and Wallace was still lazy and ran sloppy routes,Sanders did what was asked and no more. Now Wheaton and Bryant put in the work maybe not as much as Brown but that's on them to want to do more. Simply seeing Brown do it isn't going to motivate someone who does feel like they need to do more than expected they have to want to do it.

Not everyone is as bad as Wallace. You chose an example of a worse-than-usual 'tude problem as an example to the norm. I say players who are not as dumb and selfish as Wallace WILL benefit from being around AB and his tude. What, so you do not think Wheaton and Bryant will likely work harder with AB around? When you spoke of "Young $" a major component of them was Wallace, and he made marginal tude players like Sanders seem to have a worse tude. I said it at the time (not on this board then) that Wallace jack @ss tude was hurting the tude of the entire WR unit, and I believe I have been proven right. That "young $" crap was all BS. I hated it. Now without MW to tarnish everyone's tude, AB sprouted into greatness. BTW, Ward was NOT part of the "young $" crew as he was like 36 when it was here.

Never said Ward was part of it just the example he set the earn your name every camp, type of work ethic. Wallace and Sanders were exposed to that and as you said the still had bad attitudes. Now you take a guy like Wheaton who has worked with Brown two years now and he shows the average nfl player work ethic. Bryant was called out for his lack of preparation and improved it. Like I said it is a great notion to have three wr's with Brown's drive and work ethic but it is not going to happen unless they want to work harder and hone their craft.

I think D Mac was doggin it because he didn't want to get 400 touches and wore out, all for naught as he played on a bad team.

Maybe as a steeler, he lights it up, but he is in Dallas now, and if he has a great year or two, I suspect it is because he is excited about playing because the wins can come.

I'm not questioning their training techniques, but they do have a thing or two to learn about how to best use light in photographs.
