NFL.COM is doing a tournament to try and determine the greatest game of all time and fans get to vote on it. They are doing different rounds and have things broken down in to brackets. The first round has Super Bowl 13 vs the Buffalo comeback against Houston. They also have a separate category for Individual Heroics that has Super Bowl 43 vs Super Bowl 3. I just thought people would like to support our team in this tournament. I personally wish Super Bowl 13 would win the whole thing but I bet the Unitas overtime game against the Giants gets it. Here's a link if you wanna vote.

The 1974 playoff between Miami and Oakland might be the best game I ever saw... it doesn't appear to be anywhere in the running.

I tend to get awfully biased in these kind of polls, which is to be expected I suppose.

But it got me thinking - what, for you, is the greatest game involving the Steelers that we ended up losing?

Or is that a contradiction in terms?

One that springs to mind is the '03 play-off loss to the Titans... any others?

The greatest game we lost will probably be that AFC Championship game against the Chargers.

For me, the best Steelers games were the SB against the Rams and the one against the Cards. Best game of all time? As much as I hate them, I have to give it to the Chargers VS Dolphins playoff game.

How about Oilers ahead 35-3 in the 3rd, but lose 41-38 in OT?

Absolutely impossible to determine, given all the games played, so I kinda like that ESPN put it to a vote...

    Let the fans decide...

I`m not gonna bother clicking on the link, to see if the "Ice Bowl", or many other historically significant(Damn, I can never spell that) games are among the options...

I will just say, that as a biased Steeler fan, it comes down to "The Immaculate Reception", vs. the Raiders,

Or Beating Indy, after the Bus fumbled, with Ben`s tackle saving the day...

To get us to tha Bowl, in Detroit...

There have been many others, but those HAVE to be my top 2!!!

I would vote the reception, just because it changed our fortunes, and established us, as what we are now, but,,,

The heartbreak, when the unthinkable fumble occurred, being turned into victory, by a shoestring tackle from a quarterback, and a missed, last minute field goal, to get us to the Superbowl, surely deserves a spot on the "high drama" list of games!!

    GO STEELERS!!!

That's actually the one that Super Bowl 13 is against in the first round. I picked SB 13. That was an awesome game and still, to this day, is the SB that had the most Hall of Famers on the field at one time and 31 points is still the highest point total for a SB loser in history. I've got to watch it a few times on NFL Network and I always enjoy it.

Yeah that Indy game probably seriously took years off my life. I can never thin of it without getting mad because they tried to cheat for the forehead and take that OBVIOUS pick away from Troy. If that play had stood as called all that other stuff would have never have had to happen. Man I hate the colts with every fiber of my existence. LOL.

I'm partial to the game vs Chicago in 05. The snow starts coming down and the Bus made it a memorable game just being the Bus and to cap it off ultimate Big back vs HOF Linebacker on the goalline a thing of beauty.

Yeah, Bus trucking Urlacher into the field, is UNFORGETTABLE!!!...

    So, now we know...

Unstoppable force, beats an Immoveable object!!!! LOL!!!...

And the snow, made that a classic type football game...

BFT, I forgot about Troy getting screwed on that int first...

Guess I got used to it after the San Diego game... LOL!!

    GO STEELERS!!!

It's made worse by the subsequent accusations that the refs gave us the superbowl; accusations that always forget the refereeing debacle in the Colts game.

That game is definitely one of my favourites, though. It's how I will always remember Joey Porter as a player.

Bleed - the Immaculate Reception game certainly had one of the best plays in history. But the game itself was pretty dire otherwise, no?

Yeah Joey Porter lost his MIND in that game! I bet the forehead still has nightmares about that day. LOL.

Yeah and then magically the league came out the next day and said that Troy DID intercept the ball. I've always wondered if they would've done that had we wound up losing that game.

I'd go with the 1993 Wild Card pkayoff vs KC, in which Montana led the Chiefs.

This is what I now remember most about that: the video footage of Cowher telling the D that no matter what "We play." You know people don't talk much about calls against the Steelers? Because they buckle up and win anyway. That's something the 2005 Seattle team (and fans) didn't get. They were too bust whining to thinking about winning.

Yeah and the moment they announced it was overturned Troy literally popped of the bench like a jack in the box and went right back out there and almost picked off another one. Cowher later said that he thought it was gonna be overturned. I guess if there is such a thing as a "team of destiny" that game was the moment that we became that team.

I wanted to bump this because now it is between us vs the cards or the pats vs the hawks and it's 50-50. I say no WAY was that game better than Super Bowl 43. I only consider Super Bowl 13 better than it and not by a whole, whole, lot.

I agree and if Santonio's catch was the last play of the game, it would be a no brainer. Even though you won't see a play like Harrison's either, I don't think we'll ever see a SB end on a pick from the 1 yard line again...that ending was nuts, thus gives that game merrit...
