Did he do a lot of rushing off the edge at UCLA? I never did know much about the kid, other than a highlight reel.

He's in a great position to grab a starting role if he can step up.

I zum Walt forgot all about this guy.Man, they did a pretty nice job last year in the draft. Hopefully, we can do an even better job this time.

He only played a few games as an outside backer at UCLA, and from what I saw of his tape he didn't really flash the skill set of an edge rusher, but looked like a nice inside backer prospect.

I have to wonder if we're quietly thinking at Shazier as an OLB, and is Zumwalt is looked at as a replacement inside for Shazier. People have dismissed that thought based on Shazier's size, but Shazier was 6'1" 237 at the combine and Zumwalt was 6'4", 235. Shazier is more sturdy from a Ht/Wt perspective. He also shows a great ability to flatten out and dip under blockers. The limited number of times that I saw him rush off the edge at OSU, he looked like he could really blow up tackles with his speed rush, yet he also shows upper and lower body strength. I was listening to Pat Kirwan on Sirius/NFL radio a couple of weeks ago, and he seemed to think that Shazier could be the solution to our OLB dilemma. Now, I don't really think this will happen, but I think it's a possibility, and Shazier looks to me to have way more edge rush potential than Zumwalt.

Zumwalt I believe is an ILB. And coming off a season ender. Should be good to go to compete for a roster spot.

Let's not forget Shawn Lemon, eh...

I'd still like to see what Garvin could do on the edge as well. He might not have the upper body strength. He definitely has the speed. Maybe just on passing downs.

I don't think Garvin make it out of camp, we have some others who will need that spot, think his time is up.

I was excited about Zumwalt last year. Hope he can bounce back and make some noise in 2015.

Maybe with the year off last season Zumwalt has bulked up and can play OLB, they need more depth there than ILB.

Shazier has more potential at everything than Zumwalt, but if the Steelers were indeed thinking about that, they must have been really quiet. Not only did he not play any OLB, but I'm not even sure how many times he blitzed off the edge as if he was an OLB, the way Timmons and Farrior did sometimes.
