That's not how you start the party Bobby this is how we roll......

Signing Ben will mean nothing if we don't spend enormous amounts of cash on FA who don't fit our scheme...... and ummm more than 100 dollars on the weight room.

Well he is in that first five years of marriage and two kids he should be adding something like 20 pounds or so to him. I know I did its all the leftovers but now that the kids are toddlers and preschool they eat more and I get less so it all buffs out.

This deal is probably going to be more favorable than it initially seems when the details come out. What I've been saying for I don't know how long...high APY on the surface for appearances, but a bit lower in guarantees.

I need to see the details first, but in terms of total dollars the deal seems to be reasonable for a franchise QB. Spotrac is reporting it as a 4 year, 87.4 million extension, which fits when you take his 11.6 million salary for 2015 into account.

I'm sure some folks won't like it, but that's the reality of the NFL business. Franchise QBs get paid, and $20+ million is the current going rate. Heck, it may even look like a bargain when some of the guys coming up like Luck sign pen to paper.

that's understandable. it should raise this years hit from him I'd think from that 11 mil. number. throw in Timmons and AB and it's a huge chunk of the 143 mil cap number. what hurts the worst is the next couple of guys on our list. troys 8+ mil and cortez's 6+mil.. for two guys that may or may not really help. they will have to do something with those two I would think. next we need to sign heyward and get that 6.9 mil. number down some.

They can structure it a lot of ways. Really hard to say until more details come out. Hard to think his '15 cap hit will go up much if at all.

Not following the cap closely. How much are they under currently? IMO, I think that if they can add some nice pieces and tie up some key guys for this year, they should not try to reduce his cap hit and maybe even increase it for this year. I'd be in favor of doing that rather than continually kicking the can down the road. The Ravens have some real problems starting next year with Flucco's cap hit. For now it looks like $28+M for 2016 and $31M for 2017

When a QB like Andy Dalton signs a 19 million dollar a year deal then signing Big Ben for 20 million a year is all but guaranteed.
