Not to mention, if it isn't public info, how does one go about ignoring it?

So tell me again what it is that you like about the Steelers?
I'm starting to think you're just a Ravens fan that slipped in here just to troll!

Let's see, I've posted a plethora of things I love about them. Go back and read them. I am not going to post a summation of those things; that would be inane.

I don't really care what you believe. You claimed I never mentioned the $100 annual weight room budget, then I illustrated I clearly did, so you changed subjects. It was clearly asserted in #20 in this thread.

To even start this thread is crazy. The Steelers aren't cheap. The problem is in management of the cap. We are having to deal with 10 million $ in dead money for 2015. Add to that we need to find money for Ben this off-season.

Call me dense here but what should be the operational budget for a weight room? The biggest expense has to be the initial setup cost followed by preventive maintenance Which for barbells and dumbbells is low. Upkeep of new treadmills, elipticals, and weight bench will be more expensive but again not astronomical. So what are we talking here closer to 500-750?

My gym constantly upgrades every year. One year it will be all new free weights (the ones with rubber coating and handles built in, making handling them easier), another year it will be new padding on all the various benches, another year might be new machines, etc. And the members are not NFL players. I actually think they go overboard with upgrades, but it's better than being too cheap. I agree with you that most gyms, once established, don't have many new upgrades, however, the $100 annual budget for an NFL team is too cheap. You don't need upgrades every year, but you'd like to have the ability to buy cutting edge stuff if it comes along. Like I said, if you really don't need more than $100 EVER, you end up with a gym such as I observed: duct tape bench pads all over, broken dumbbells laying on the floor and things of that nature. The fact that the gym was in such disorder proved that $100 annual budget is not adequate for an NFL gym, at least not every year. I know that the top of the training world has just come out with a leading edge piece of equipment that any football team could benefit from. It uses the concept of the conjugate method. The Steelers won't be able to benefit from it with their $100 budget. Instead, "allegedly," they choose their equipment heavily based on who gives them free stuff. Is that really the best way to decide on your training equipment?

Whew, Ive been watching long enough and Im worn out by this circular argument.

Lloyd Im not following along here and I don't think that Im alone.

You keep citing duct tape benches and $100 budgets as evidence that the Rooneys are cheap. When asked for proof you say that you saw the weight room back in 1999 and I guess that's proof enough for the duct tape. But when pressed for verification of the $100 budget and asking for proof you keep saying that it is nonpublic information and keep referring back to post #20....which is merely just you saying that the budget was $100...as proof.

That is like me saying that the Rooney's aren't cheap because they once spent $10,000 buying everyone dinner at a local restaurant on Mothers Day, and when asked for proof I just keep repeating that they spent $10,000 on dinner for Mothers Day.

What Blast and others want to know is HOW EXACTLY do you know that there was $100 budget? Did you work for them? Were you a player? Were you a college player using their facilities? Was one of your friends a player? What? Sans link, anything other that repeatedly saying "Post 20" will strongly help your argument. Until then, your claims are completely meaningless as anyone can say anything.

And I don't care that YOU said they have a budget of 100, theres your confusion. Post something factual and I'll factor it into the conversation.

Until then, you'll need more than torn cushions to support your argument that they are cheap.

Ad hominem attacks are not encouraged here. As the mods have said, this board is to remain friendly and not really have personal attacks in posts.

The Steelers aren't cheap. They rarely if ever overpay for free agents.
Now I have seen them overpay on occasion for their own players.
Which tells me they don't mind ponying up for talent that they've Drafted and developed.
I believe overall the Steelers have navigated the free agency market quite well. Could they have done better some Years? Yes! But are they done a heck of a lot worse?yes!

When someone makes such claims on a message board on the Internet it's only natural that people are going to question it. I believe it's reasonable to ask for proof of what you're claiming before someone accepts it as the truth. I highly doubt you're going to embarrass him.

Someone once posted: "Ad hominem attacks are not encouraged here. As the mods have said, this board is to remain friendly and not really have personal attacks in posts."

I will say your citing 16 year old information now explains why I don't understand most of your posts.

Unfortunately for you that wasn't a personal attack. You claim to have information that backs up your argument, but won't share it. Out of some absurd fear that feelings will be hurt and people will be embarrassed. Making outlandish claims without factual information to back them up is inane. I'm really beginning to believe that Snack was right when he called you a troll. You've been here a month and seem to go out of your way to stir the pot on a daily basis.

Giving you details could get someone in hot water (very doubtful but I won't take the chance), so I refuse. I really don't care if you believe me or not. If ANY of you know ANYONE who would have been in the gym in 3 Rivers would easily agree that this was true.

Then what's worse than being in a coma, as that must be the state you are in. If ANY of you had any inside connections to the Cowher days, you'd know this were true, or you could find out. I am sorry all of those in this thread do not.

Weight room, fitness club equipment maintenance is always a last thought.
I maintain gym equipment for a living.
At my main place of employment I have a shop with spare parts, vinyl, etc.

All larger sized clubs should have staff on premises for this purpose, but they don't.
    So they call me.
