Here's a guy projected by CBSSports to go in the 4th rd Lynden Trail of Norfolk State DE/OLB 6-6 260 lbs. He seems to be doing well at Senior Bowl practices, and even practiced at TE.

trevor harris of Houston is another. plays DE/OLB more of an OLB than down DE. 6-5 233 slim but long build and fast. ex WR. gets off blocks well to make tackles and is quick off the edge. and yes SR6 trail is a guy that is under the radar too. both these guys have a ton of potential to be pretty good down the road. I like the size of them. getting us back to the size our OLB'ers used to be. those tall 6-5 guys off the edge.

if we are looking to bolster the WR spot, I'd have to look at a couple of big guys that are flying under the radar from Georgia tech. very under used in this type of offense and could probably be had later unless they make a lot of noise at the combine. smelter and waller. 6-3 and 6-6 plus. a couple of forgotten guys that could be nice big targets.

benardrick McKinney from miss.st. played ilb but also played a little edge rusher for them from time to time. a big stud at 6-4 250. 41 in. verticle. 4.55 speed. could he be a convert to OLB for us? powerful looking player. moves well. hits hard. has a little bit of coverage skills.

Yeah, I saw that, he was at his combine. A convert from safety to RB, I think the Steelers will look for a more seasoned player at the position. He doesn't run well between the tackles and he'll need to do that here.

I had David Johnson going in the 4th, but after the numbers he posted at the combine, I think he needs to be grabbed in the 3rd if they want him. He had a good day.

Yeah, I remember that. I think he will just play where you put him. I thought they graduated a bigger RB, and couldn't find a consistent replacement with size. They had like 20 little fast guys, but no one to get the tough yards. Their secondary was loaded after that, so he didn't need to move back to D.
PS him maybe, and let him watch a patient runner in Bell. That's if he has good vision.

keep an eye on this cat. cedric Thompson safety minn. gophers. ran a 4.38- 4.44 40 at his pro day and 21 reps. MT likes speed. can play strong or free. tackles well and covers well. snubbed from the combine. put on a show with cobb sitting out the gopher pro day I read.

My sleeper WAS going to be Byron Jones, CB, UCONN until he set a world record in the broad jump at the combine. Now Mike Mayock has him tied as his #5 corner. Mr. Jones is now awake it seems. Before the combine I had him as a 3rd round talent who would go in the 5th - 7th, now he may be a 3rd round talent that goes in the 2nd if GMs see things like Mayock does.

I guess I have to look for a new sleeper...

elvis I think these boards will adjust themselves quite a bit before draft day. jones is a good player. I really expect that 2nd tier of 1-2 round players like pj Williams and some others to fall in favor of guys like jones, james and nelson and maybe a few others. I think many of these corners are very similar in talent even through round 4 or more. not much difference so you might as well get some speed and quicks with them.

it depends what coaches feel they can do with them once they get them in hand. nelsons knock is he's a little grabby. if a coach thinks he can coach some of that out of him then they may forego guys ranked on a lot of boards higher right now.

these boards are a guideline and not gospel. every year we see guys go before guys ranked ahead of them. after waynes anything can happen and he's iffy if the right team thinks they can take the chance on peters.

heck I could live with Johnson followed by jones if the steelers went that route. I wouldn't mind that at all even if they followed it up with rowe and grant and planned on using the latter two at safety. not likely but it sure would make the future look bright on the backend for years to come.

I like this guy a lot. I remember him from the Huskers game, but kinda forgot about him till now.

Good open field tackler, breaks down nicely, sorts through the trash pretty good. Has the speed to cover.

watch the tackle on Gordon at around 2:25 and the break on the route around 10:15. Some good stuff there.

Mark Glowinski, but being that Munchak was a former HC, I'm sure he could scout all the options there. Makes sense sending him there if all the others are at various other pro days. I'll have to look into Glowinski.
